Franklin D. Roosevelt Kept Deadly Disease Hidden for Years
Fox News ^ | 1-3-10

Some 65 years ago, as World War II raged in Europe and the Pacific, the American people faced an unprecedented constitutional crisis of which they were completely unaware — and which has remained a secret ever since.

It has long been known that President Franklin D. Roosevelt, during the last year of his life, was gravely ill with serious cardiac problems: He'd been diagnosed with acute heart failure in March 1944 and suffered from astronomically high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis.

But what the public did not know was that four years earlier, while still in the second of his four terms as president, FDR had been diagnosed with a deadly skin cancer, melanoma, in a lesion over his left eyebrow.

This disease would metastasize to Roosevelt's abdomen and his brain, causing a tumor that eventually killed him on April 12, 1945.

Read World War II: The Rest of the Story and How It Affects You Today : 1930 to September 11, 2001 by Richard J. Maybury for the truth of FDR and WWII. FDR venerated Stalin, a murderer of 65 million people. He set up Pearl Harbor for attack. D-Day, far from being a heroic day, was only for the purpose of lessening the pressure Hilter was putting on Stalin. How different would the world have been if Hilter and Stalin beat each other into oblivion?

FDR was one of our worst Presidents. He did much to advance Marxism in our nation and helped to advance Communism in its worst form (under Joe Stalin whom he called “uncle Joe”) more than any other President.

This somewhat confirms a story I heard years ago by a fellow coworker that had a relative present at the FDR’s death. The president’s doctor stated that he had terminal lung cancer and probably would not have survived another month. FDR said goodbye to the women he loved earlier that day and then put a bullet through his temple with the 38 he always kept by the bed. The President’s doctor and town physician worked 4 hours to save him but he was too far gone. That is why it there was no open casket funeral.

There does not seem to be evidence that FDR knew he was terminally ill leading up to the election of 1940

The article contends excatly the opposite.

Why are they coming out with this story now? Who has what deadly disease for which they are setting the stage? I’ve heard rumors that Caligula has lung cancer and/or AIDS. IMO, as thin as he is, with that cough, he could also have TB.

I’m not questioning this story. FDR probably did have lots wrong with him (and I agree with those who diss him. He set up this socialist junk). I am questioning the timing of the story.

The story came up during the discussion of the various Kennedy conspiracies at lunch. This was back in the 80s during the 20th anniversary. The teller was one of those techie types not prone to making up stories. He just stated that he didn’t know who killed Kennedy but he did know that FDR did not die of natural causes. FDR’s cerebral hemorrhage had been caused by a bullet. This prompted further questions leading to the story. For him to make it up out of whole cloth was not like him and he claimed to have heard it directly from the relative that had be there.

About watching Clinton for Parkinson’s... (my husband has it)

True, the finger tremor is an early symptom, but not all go on to develop Michael Fox type jerking movements. Some just become stiff, rigid, and develop a “Tim Conway” walk.

The inability of the brain to maintain smooth muscular coordination can vary in Parkinson’s. One thing that might be easier to spot would be the muscles around his eyes. If he develops a “staring” expression, that would be another clue.

So much was hidden from public knowledge in those days... I wonder what the public would have thought (and how they would have voted) had they known just how ill FDR was.

My bet - they would have re-elected him anyway.

You were 15 when I was born, but I remember well as a child how highly respected FDR was. But, time and knowledge has taken all the shine off his reputation.

Yes, I've heard of that "flat affect" expressionless face with the staring eyes -- quite hard to imagine B.Clinton in that condition, he was always so animated all the time.

I didn't realize that not everybody goes on to develop full blown Parkinsons Disease.

So then, I presume from your comments, that not EVERYONE who is diagnosed with PD will develop dementia shortly before they die?

*** I wonder what history will reveal about Obama long after we are all gone. ***

That he was a Hermaphrodite, and that's why he fought to keep his Birth Certificate hidden.
