Just heard the same thing for the third time in the past two weeks. An Obamatron was just suggesting on Fox that free internet access is the latest "found" new right of everyone in the country. Everyone must have their own computer and internet account because so many libraries are being closed (by mean conservatives, no doubt). She went on to say that "last year 1.2 billion Americans" went to the library" demonstrating the cruelty of shutting them and thus ending free internet access to the masses (not to mention her keen statistical grasp on the polulation). The understated solution, of course, is free computers and internet accounts for everyone (at how many trillions of your tax-payer dollars of course).
I think we should all have the right to mandatory free lawyer care. Lawyers should not be able to earn a penny as legal care should be a fundamental human right.
There. Let’s see how THEY like it.
Of course, this is after the government takes over the Net and censors everything they don’t like, right?

There is no “Obama phone” or other newly created federal program to provide free cell phones. As you may know, this is a myth that is now circulating on the Web via email and blog sites. It has been thoroughly debunked by independent groups. The UK has been taxing TV for years.
In the United Kingdom, citizens must pay a licence if they own a television set. That’s right, a TV tax. For Americans, the whole idea of an annual tax to own a television borders on the absurd. However, in the UK, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a government agency that has the power to tax and enforce laws. In order to obtain funding, the BBC requires that anyone using its services must pay for them. So, if you own a TV set and live in the UK, you could conceivably turn on the BBC broadcasts, so therefore you better pay.
A colour television licence is £116 a year (around $192 US) and a black and white TV licence costs £38.50 a year (around $64 US). The cost goes up each year and this has lead some lawmakers to question the way the BBC is funded. However, until the law is changed, the TV licence remains — leading to harassment of those who proclaim not to own a TV set and jail time for those that own TV sets and don’t pay the tax.

My first computer was a regular pentium with win 95. Cost me about 400 dollars back then used.
Now I can by a slightly past modern brand new laptop for the same cost.

Apparently no one saw fit to even comment on the fact that this imbecile seems to think that the US poor/black population, equals 1/5th of the entire worlds population.
When in fact the entire population of the United States is only a bit over 300 million. And the entire worlds population is I believe, less than 7 billion.

Now, with some game systems in the $199 to $299 a pop, I find myself wondering how many of these underprivileged homes have *them*, when you can buy a brand new, up to date, desktop computer, with Windows 7, for little more than one of these systems and a handful of games to play on them?
There are plenty of brand new computers available for significantly less than $500. You can even pay *that* off over time, at many large chain stores.
