Entering Familiar Territory - U.S. Marines with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment enter Combat Outpost Changalok, Afghanistan, Dec. 26, 2009. The Marines are in the area to provide security and develop relationships with the local population.
River Run - U.S. Soldiers with the 3rd Zone Security Forces Advisory Team drive their mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles across a river near the Pakistan border, Kandahar province, Afghanistan, Dec. 23, 2009.

It’s very clear...and kind of cold!...but there is still a
haze around the beautiful moon. I guess there is ice up there very high. Hope it doesn’t mean that there is snow coming! LOL!

its been my experience that when the ice is that high in the atmosphere is doesn’t make it to the ground.
I dont even think what we are seeing is ice, that usually forms a halo.
Af course I am no expert, just a skygazer LoL

Shucks.....we got to fly daily there, except during the monsoons. There’s no grander sight to see than Hai Phong harbor and MiGs taking off to greet us. We’d even wave at them....if you get my drift.
