Senator Ben Nelson and his friends (of the leftist MSM) have discovered that the senator from Nebraska may have committed political suicide by voting for ObamaCare. Yahoo! News reports that, according to pollster Scott Rasmussen, Nelson would only receive 30% of the votes if elections were held today, while his (unnamed) Republican competitor could count on 61%. Thats a massive gap of 31%.
It goes to show just how unpopular ObamaCare is.
Nelsons health care vote is clearly dragging his numbers down. Just 17% of Nebraska voters approve of the deal their senator made on Medicaid in exchange for his vote in support of the plan. Overall, 64% oppose the health care legislation, including 53% who are Strongly Opposed. In Nebraska, opposition is even stronger than it is nationally.
In order to counter the growing opposition to his betrayal, Nelson kicked off a massive ad campaign yesterday. The ads were first aired during yesterdays Holiday Bowl game and will continue for an undisclosed number of days.
Although the fact that Nelson has decided to start this ad campaign is in itself all we need to understand that hes panicking, it becomes even more clear that hes truly terrified, if you realize that he isnt up for reelection until 2012.

Way to go Nelson......Burn thru that campaign money !
Then the DNC will have to give you more (maybe) in a losing effort.
Loud: not stupid, Obama and his ilk are simply gambling. They think that as long as they push this through, they may lose the elections of 2010 and perhaps even those of 2012, but in the long run, they’ll run because socialized medicine will, they believe, inevitably result in America becoming a social democracy.
and check out this guy, Scott Brown...he could be the 41st Republican Senator and BLOCK healthcare, if he is elected in the special election Jan 19th in Massachusetts for Kennedy’s seat..maybe THAT’S why the big rush to push this Healthcare thru!

Can Nebraska recall a senator?
You see it.
Let's take all these suckers down, down, down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that it will make any difference.
“Can Nebraska recall a senator?”
I don’t see why not
He’s probably been promised an Ambassador appointment.

Socialized medicine, given time, and a huge influx of illegals given U.S. citizenship ... will become a third rail issue, not unlike social security. No politician will dare touch it ...
As I understand it, not many states have provision for recall of Senators. I’m don’t know about Nebraska.
It sure would be sweet though.
0bama and his minders and fellow travelers are doing this because they have no fear of electoral outcomes next year or in 2012. Why fear what you plan to eliminate?
Send a copy of this article (a paper copy, or a link) to Rep. Bart Stupak, Rep. Joseph Cao, and the Potential Flip Vote of your choice. If the vote on the final (post-reconciliation bill) goes exactly as it did last time in the House, but with just three people flipping from YES to NO, THIS BILL WILL FAIL.

Again: there were 42 members of the House who voted both in favor of the Stupak amendment to bar taxpayer funding for abortions and in favor of the main bill. Clearly, Speaker Nancy Pelosi couldn't have won passage of health care legislation had the House not adopted pro-life language.
The names below are all of those who voted in favor of both measures, with an asterik next to those who were considered undecided on the morning of the vote. To be clear, many of these members would have supported the health care bill no matter what. However, given the 220-215 vote margin on the House vote, what it means is that when the pro-life language is stripped from the bill during negotiations with the Senate, if Pelosi loses the support of any three of these people below as a result -- without picking up anybody else's support -- the bill cannot pass the House.
