Rasmussen: Obamacare Disapproval at New High (More than 2:1 among independent likely voters)
Weekly Standard ^ | December 30, 2009 | Jeffrey H. Anderson

Posted on 12/31/2009 2:44:59 AM PST by Zakeet

Rasmussen's health-care polling results since Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid orchestrated the Christmas Eve vote are full of undeniably bad news for Democrats. In roughly ascending order of bad news (if one is a Democrat)...

Likely voters oppose Obamacare by more than the (18-point) margin by which Ronald Reagan beat Walter Mondale: 58 percent to 39 percent.

There are far more likely voters who "strongly" oppose Obamacare (46 percent) than there are likely voters who support it even "somewhat" (39 percent).

Only 24 percent of likely voters think that the quality of health care would get better under Obamacare, while 54 percent think it would get worse -- a gap of 30 percent.

Only 13 percent of likely voters think that the cost of health would go down under Obamacare, while 63 percent think it would rise -- a gap of 50 percent.

Seniors oppose Obamacare by more than 2 to 1: 63 percent to 31 percent.

And the worst news of all for Democrats...

Independents oppose Obamacare by the head-turning tally of 66 percent to 28 percent.

Independent voters who bought the entire 0bama package and voted for him look like they are feeling pretty fresh these days.

I have one word for them - SUCKERS!

Looks like they thought they went to bed at night having thought that they just inaugurated George Washington and then waking up to the Benedict Arnold Administration.

And for the record, the ONLY thing more reprehensible than this bill is the process they employed to get it - back door vote buying, total info blackout with the public, etc.

ObamaCare will be a political disaster for the Dems. The left doesn’t like it, conservatives despise it, and independents oppose it by 2-1. Virtually no one likes it, aside from some select special interests like the drug lobby and AARP. Even groups like the AMA who have “endorsed” the bill are lukewarm at best. Even the bills big proponents concede that “it’s not perfect” (in other words, it sucks, and we admit it...we’re just putting a nice face on it).

ObamaCare is a monument to Obama himself, nothing more. It will do nothing it claims to do. The only thing we can hope for at this point is that a) it collapses in the Senate/House conference, or b) it is so unpopular that enough Republicans are elected in the next two elections to eviscerate most of the objectionable parts of the legislation.

"ObamaCare" is nothing more than Malthusian Darwinism made offical government policy.

I observed the following in the context of Thomas Sowell's article on the fraudulent "science" which is at the foundations of the Global Warming canard.

What one must come to grips with is that this kind of behavior was learned, refined, and perfected first in the context of Darwinism to promote among other things anti-Christianity and leftist social policy.

The battle plan of the elites has been busted in the context of AGW. That same play book must be and I believe will be increasingly exposed in the context of Darwinism, if we remain persistent.

Malthusian Darwinism is what ObamaCare is all about.

Spread the word. Make that association openly and boldly. This legislation is abortion of the unborn and the eugenic extermination of the elderly and infirmed.

For all the blithering idiot Darwinists who show up on FR thinking they are conservatives, I challenge every last one of them to look introspectively and ask themselves whether they haven't been conned by the media and their politically driven "science" falsely-so-called.

This is where the rubber meets the road, folks. Darwinists are as worthless to conservatism as are RINOs. They are as worthless to Christianity and promotion of Christian principles as any Gnostic of old ever was.

There. I said it. Again.

FReegards!

If Ø were not black, his approval would be in the single digits. Sad - that racism is as strong as ever in this country.

The joke of “Obamacare” is that it proves Obama cares.
I wonder if the Democrats see this entitlement of healthcare as a way of sealing long term support - those who disagree can die, or just suffer from denial of care.

...the Dems know from the Euroweenie example that once government has life-and-death power over us they will hold all the cards and there will be no going back.

This was pretty much what Karl Marx said, and what was motivation of tyrants like Bismarck and the Soviets who implemented nationalized health care long before the Euroweenies (by which I assume you mean the "democracies" of western Europe).

However, things may be a bit different in the United States, where we have much stronger traditions of individual liberty and where public disapproval of socialized medicine now is probably much greater percentagewise than it was in the various Euro nations when they inflicted these disasters upon themselvelves.

...all the dem congresscritters were almost certainly given elaborate promises ... that they will be set up for life as soon as they are booted by the voters next year. Cushy jobs in the 110 new healthcare bureaucracies and the Soros organizations as well as board positions in the newly government-acquired businesses.

We're only talking about maybe 50 "blue dog" 'Rats in the House and at most ten possible fence-sitters in the Senate. They could easily be accommodated by the existing Washington lobbying firms, which is where ex-congresscritters most often end up anyhow. So, contrary to popular belief, there isn't much of an employment problem for them once they leave. Plus, of course, they'll continue to have the same gold-plated health care plans that they have now while the rest of us are coerced into their monstrosity.

When we kick them out of office; take their pensions(they did ours); health care perks and other goodies; and bar them from participating in government period.

The ones that are leaving now want to make sure they are on the gravy train early.

Never believe a liberal. They lie.
