Sources: Limbaugh Rushed To Honolulu Hospital

HONOLULU -- Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays. Coincidentally, his visit comes at a time when two of the nation's most powerful Democrats, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are also staying in Hawaii.

Me too — it mimics heart attack often — also had the surgery and still have trouble with pain at times — the stupid stones form in the liver!!!

Under the best of circumstances, the pain is nothing and he will be back on Monday. Even if it was cardiac, and was handled by a stent in the cath lab, he could be back in a week or so.

You are correct. It is just that since rehab he had learned how to cope with the back pain without drugs. So when all of a sudden he was complaining how much back pain he was having it just seemed odd. That is why I think it was more then just his back, but he didn't realize it was more.

If there is a high liklihood of cardiac pain based on the initial assessment and EKG, the test of choice is to procede directely to the cath lab for coronary angiography. (heart catheterization)

I haven’t heard. I was told that they would know Monday, but I haven’t asked. I’m not really good with words. “I’m sorry” doesn’t seem like enough to me, but what else can you say except that you are there for them and are praying for all of them.

I can’t imagine what they are going through. They had already lost their other son.

My posts often have spelling errors, because I’m not a very good typist and I often slip and hit post without proofreading.

What bearing does this have on this conversation? Well, I’m a professional magazine editor. And a former newspaper reporter. And a historian. And one of my humanities papers is now used by my professor as a model for students on how to write a humaities paper.

Unless you’ve got more than that, I’d holster the accusations, Lori.

I don’t understand why it’s so hard to believe that a physician might be a member of FreeRepublic and might post on here..as I did tonight... but I’m just letting it go.

I first saw the news about Rush on Newsmax.com and came here where I thought there might be more information.

Like everyone else, I’m GREATLY relieved that Rush is now reported to be in stable condition.

I like it when he subs. I listened to him for a long time. Late night feedings of children went by faster listening to Art. I find his voice “comforting”. If that’s the right word.

Those old shows felt like sitting around a campfire all night with friends telling stories. Contrary to what shows up in the press outside of the show, Bell never presented anything as fact--he just had a great skill for getting people to tell their own stories, and he never ridiculed them outright, not even the woman who claimed to have an alien reptilian lover.

The replacement hosts just don't manage to do that, although they are a lot better than the first replacement who has dropped from view completely.

The pain started in my right back, then went around front to below my navel, then it moved up to under my sternum.

For me it felt like lying across someone's knee and then having someone kneeling on my stomach opposite that knee and the knees almost touching. The only thing (aside from narcotics) that helped to lessen the pain was to float in a bathtub of hot water with my arms behind my head. Kidney stone pain is supposed to be way worse. They're both caused by spasming smooth muscle making stretch receptors scream around the stone.
