Ive already written about how his isolationist garbage leads inexorably to nonsense like this, so let me just add two points. First, and most obviously, there is no U.S. occupation of Yemen or Nigeria. The only way the airline plot is a reaction to U.S. occupation is if you accept the jihadist premise that there are no Arab/Muslim nation-states but rather only one Islamic caliphate waiting to be born. Only in that way does the U.S. occupation of Iraq warrant a reprisal from, say, a Pakistani or Yemeni. And yet, needless to say, if Britain was attacked tomorrow and Obama pledged U.S. forces to assist in the reprisal, Paul would be the first guy to scream that we should scrupulously observe national boundaries and not go fighting another countrys battles for it.

Correct. Ron Paul and Obama are birds of a feather.
The Brits gave us a civilized India, for one thing, which is working out in our favor now.
And I am half Irish ancestry, so know they royally screwed up in our beloved soggy island:-)
Wait...so the rule is that if you don't agree with Ron Paul, you "love John McCain?"
Uh...good to know.
Exactly. He's pretty sharp on economic issues and I support his initiative for much smaller government, but his foreign policy remarks are off the charts.
Wonder how long until you are called a war profiteer...
Oh Ron, so right on the Constitution, so right on domestic policy, so right on monetary and economic policy yet at the same time a crazed blame America firster.
I’m sorry for your relatives who died in WWII, and sadly, a lot of us have friends (no longer relatives, in my case) in Iraq and Afghanistan. I hope all of yours come home soon and safe. I don’t know my relatives that died during WWII - I wasn’t born yet, but not all of them died fighting the axis.
My parents were pretty old when I was born and I’m not that far removed from those who escaped the Nazi’s (as well as the preceding Franco-Germanic conflicts), Communists, etc. as well as those who didn’t. We will never know a large portion of my ancestry because of communist occupation, viewed as “liberating” until they learned the truth the hard way. They’re gone from history.
I grew up in a place that had a lot of people who escaped Viet Nam. Some had no family members left when they got here.
My Family and my friends have largely been the result of the history you speak of. You don’t have to tell me about “talking points”. I’ve heard the stories from those who lived said history.
Never read it...
LOL - that certainly is the pattern and there's usually some hysterical name-calling that precedes that.
Happy New Year to you! May 2010 be a great improvement over 2009 for all of us.
Every time I start thinking that Paul might be able to offer something, he comes up with this stupidity.
have a good 2010, may it indeed be a better year.
No, I know a lot of people don’t like McCain but he gets way too much support here.
Just contrast McCain/Obama and Paul/Obama, or for that matter Bush/Obama, Romney/Obama, etc and tell me where the greatest difference comes up.
Paul is somewhat a throwback to the isolationist attitude prior to Pearl Harbor.
A majority of Americans didn’t want to be drawn into another war in Europe.
The GOP were isolationists, and fought FDR, as he tried to assist Britain, in legal and not so legal ways.
First, we have a volunteer military.
Secondly, the assumption is that our military will be strong through our support and protection.
No one is sacrificing any one else unless we withdraw our support - whether real as when Congress cut off funds to the Viet Nam war or by hitting morale by justifying the terrorists.
This guys views on this are more absurd that odumbos and that is saying something...
Not really relevant since I'd never vote for Paul for president.
I support conservatives such as Hunter, DeMint, Barbour, Palin, Pence...
Any would be a vast improvement over what we've been offered in the recent past.
As I've said before, Paul is right on some things, but woefully wrong on other issues that are far too critical.
In my neighborhood here in San Diego, I grew up around many dozens of Jewish, just a few years out of the concentration camps. Their numbers on their arms. This included the Orthodox Rabbi and his wife who were in camps.
My great Uncle was in Patton’s 3rd Army and helped liberate Buchenwald which I saw in person years later.
I know many who escaped Eastern Europe later.
Here in San Diego are over 100,000 Vietnamese and other SE Asia.
They were the first out, many picked up in the ocean at the fall of Siagon.
Also here are over 35,000 Iraqis. The majority are Chaldean Christians.
Those I have talked with were so glad Bush went into Iraq.
When Sadam Hussein was captured, huge numbers of Iraqis
were on the Fed. Ct. plaza downtown in their native dress,
and music with signs, Thank You President Bush.
The Terrorists who flew the plane into the pentagon lived around 6 miles from me here in San Diego.
Their Imam, who was attending San Diego St. Univ. getting a degree was Anwar al-Awlaki. He later was the Imam for the
Ft. Hood Terrorist killer and was in contact with
the current terrorist who tried to blow up the plane and kill over 270 people.
There were those who tried to find excuses for Hitler,
looked the other way while he spread his hate and The English Prime Minister in late 1930s had Hitler sign a peace treaty and came back to England, Peace in our time
just before Hitler bombed London and we know the rest of the story.
The IslamOfascists have been at war with Christians and Jews
over 1000 years. The Koran tells them what to do to the Christians and Jews.
Making excuses for them or pretending this isn’t happening
only plays into the hands of the IslamOfascists.
Ok, so we’ve both had exposure to people who’ve been through history. I don’t know what your point in that was, but mine was telling you that I know something of history and your assumption that I just sat behind a computer my whole life was a mistake.
So what is your point by the rest of it? I’m sure that if we invaded Canada there would be some Canadians that were happy that we did it. The fact that some people are glad when we depose their leader doesn’t make it right and certainly doesn’t make it Constitutional.
Let me ask you this: What do you think is the reason why the radical Islamists want to attack us? Do you really think that they believe they can convert America to Islam? Or kill all of us? If they just want to kill infidels to get to Heaven, they don’t have to come all the way over here to do it.
IslamOfascits are not converting America or Western Europe to Islam but to kill Christians and Jews.
Your problem, you can’t believe there is an enemy that evil.
The Nazi’s wern’t out to convert Jews, but to kill them
and those who supported them.
