I’ve already written about how his isolationist garbage leads inexorably to nonsense like this, so let me just add two points. First, and most obviously, there is no U.S. occupation of Yemen or Nigeria. The only way the airline plot is a reaction to U.S. “occupation” is if you accept the jihadist premise that there are no Arab/Muslim nation-states but rather only one Islamic caliphate waiting to be born. Only in that way does the U.S. occupation of Iraq warrant a reprisal from, say, a Pakistani or Yemeni. And yet, needless to say, if Britain was attacked tomorrow and Obama pledged U.S. forces to assist in the reprisal, Paul would be the first guy to scream that we should scrupulously observe national boundaries and not go fighting another country’s battles for it.

I'm not a republican. I'm registered as 'Independent' and I consider myself a conservative. I used to respect Ron Paul, and I don't think that we should be involved in as many foreign 'entanglements' as we are. However, we are not now, nor have we ever been 'occupiers.'

I doubt leavening Iraq, Afghanistan would make a difference. The world wide jihad would continue., The followers of the moon god have only one purpose in mind … world domination.

I fear Congressman Paul is giving Conservatism a bad name. He makes us look like idiots when he talks about auditing the Fed and now this crap. He’s an MD from Texas. What does he know about international or diplomatic issues? NOTHING. So “shut up, Ron..”
I agree. They have been doing this since the 600s. The only setback was in Catholic Spain and the Pope will pay for that some day...
