Vt. Judge: Birth Mom Must Give Child To Ex-Partner
By WILSON RING Associated Press Writer Dec. 29, 2009
MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The birth mother of a 7-year-old Virginia girl must transfer custody of the child to the woman's former lesbian partner, a Vermont judge has ruled.
Vermont Family Court Judge William Cohen ordered Lisa Miller of Winchester, Va., to turn over daughter Isabella to Janet Jenkins of Fair Haven at 1 p.m. Friday at the Virginia home of Jenkins' parents.
Miller and Jenkins were joined in a Vermont civil union in 2000. Isabella was born to Miller through artificial insemination in 2002. The couple broke up in 2003, and Miller moved to Virginia, renounced homosexuality and became an evangelical Christian.
In the Dec. 22 order denying Miller's request to delay the transfer of Isabella, Cohen wrote: "It appears that Ms. Miller has ceased contact with her attorneys and disappeared with the minor child."
Liberty Counsel attorneys who have represented Miller in the past did not immediately respond to telephone messages left Tuesday by The Associated Press.
A listing for Lisa Miller in Winchester, Va., says the phone line has been temporarily disconnected at the customer's request.

And what makes you think that they aren't?....
If this old dinosaur still draws a breath, isn't anything possible?
I do not agree. The woman wanted her daughter to have no contact with a lesbian. I stand with the mother completely on this. Since the courts have ruled the way they have, then the only thing to do would be to flee the courts jurisdiction. I pray that this mother will never ever be found, by this lesbo or any of her twisted supporters, irregardless of the fprmer custody decree. I would even help the mother evade the damned authorities.
I didn't ascribe anything to you. I quoted you.
Have a nice day.
I can’t believe some of you are actually supporting the abusive lesbo. What, does Free Republic have a homosexual wing?
Putting a Christian girl under the household of a lesbian is abuse. Its the ultimate support of the homosexual agenda to demoralize America. Any one of you who supports this invasive homosexual evangelizing will also “reap what you sow” as some of you have condescendingly said of Lisa Miller.
Which incidentally is in conflict with Virginia's own laws regarding gay civil-unions/marriage. I'm not sure what Virginia can do about a Supreme Court that breaks the very laws it's supposed to enforce. I haven't followed the case closely, but I've been aware of it for several years.
Actually, you assumed that I have no compassion for the child (which as yet no one has provided any evidence the child is suffering). That means you ascribed to me a lack of compassion, taking my laughing at the two adult idiots in this case as meaning I don’t care about the child. But, small minded people do tend to make such assumptions. You have a nice day.
“I pray that this mother will never ever be found, by this lesbo or any of her twisted supporters, irregardless {sic} of the fprmer {sic} custody decree.”
But the FBI will find her and she will be charged with obstruction and kidnapping.
It is shocking that freepers would voice such opinions. Or even see humor in this judicial travesty. Safety of the child is paramount. But not for some.
Under federal law, every state's courts must honor the custody determinations of the courts of the state which is the child's residence. Otherwise, every time there was a custody dispute, the losing spouse would flee to another state and start the litigation over again.
It is also shacking that Freepers are advocating that a person refuse to abide by a court order and kidnap a child
Lesbo Janet Jenkins along with left-wing judges decide to put a Christian child that has no connection to her, other than she is the child of her ex, in her care, while the actual mother is being treated like a dangerous criminal?
Is that what you call justice?
Thanks. I don’t think either of us is happy about the outcome either. It’s the way it is though, sadly.
Simply because a person is a Evangelical Christian does not make them a good parent.
And simply because a person is a lesbian does not make them a bad parent.
However, when a parent has been charged and convicted of kidnapping, the courts will undoubtably see them as a bad parent who is not worthy of custody.
I guess "Daddy" wasn't available for comment...............
WND has broken multiple stories that the MSM does everything they can to ignore, including this story of a radical, Christian-hating lesbian Jenkins, who is furious that Miller became a born again Christian and wished to leave the lesbian lifestyle and move to another state. Jenkins & the screwed up judicial system are doing everything they can to destroy & discredit Miller and to take her 7 yr biological daughter from her. Miller has publicly repented & renounced her lesbian lifestyle, and regrets ever being caught up in the lesbian lifestyle, and especially is heartbroken to think her own biological daughter is being COURT ORDERED to turn her daughter over to a rabid, Christian hating lesbian. It is a massive outrage and can you imagine how the courts would have ruled if it was a heterosexual person filing for permanent custody of a biological child of a homosexual or lesbian parent??? The case would be thrown on out & dismissed without merit. But this is a custody case filed by a radical, anti-Chritian lesbian Jenkins, who has sexually abused the 7 yr old girl, and yet those charges were simply dismissed & disregarded by the courts. This is what happens in a country where evil is promoted as being good, and good is promoted as being evil.
This is not just a custody battle. This is another battle to force the homosexual/lesbian agenda upon us, and the best interests of a 7 yr old girl are simply ignored & dismissed by the bastard judges in Vermont and in Virginia, and are now being appealed once again (not a snowballs chance in hell I am afraid).

Okay. That right there is funny... I don’t care who ya’ are!
Did I ask you about non-specific evangelicals or homosexuals? Did I ask you about charges that haven’t even been filed yet? Did I ask you about the bankrupt opinion of corrupt courts?
No. Answer my question. Is this what you call justice?
Since they were joined in a civil union, the law may look on it the same way as a child born to a married woman—the father is assumed to be the husband unless other legal challenges are made.
She may have a chance if she moves where a state where such civil unions aren’t recognized, Virginia seems willing to recognize Vermont law. Other states may not be so cooperative.
I believe that Miller and her daughter had already clearly established residency in Virginia, when the case was initially filed by Jenkins. And you think that where there was sexual abuse by Jenkins against the 7 year old girl, that the custody case and any unsupervised visitation rights would have been dismissed immediately.
That's the thing - Virginia not only does not recognize such unions, they are specifically excluded from being recognized or considered in any way during custody disputes. No wonder the woman thinks she can't get justice - the Virginia Supreme Court is breaking the laws of its own state. Running, if she has done so, is a tactical error. This should have gone to the USSC first.
