Senate climate change fight looks as tough as healthcare reform (Graham is RINO Judas goat)

Senate Democrats will face a problem when they return in January every bit as tough as crafting the healthcare bill: Assembling a climate and energy package that can be shoehorned into the election-year calendar.
Imposing limits on greenhouse gases is a White House and Democratic priority, but its stuck in line behind health care, Wall Street reform and jobs legislation.
Its also become increasingly apparent since the Copenhagen climate summit that the Senate will go forward in a dramatically different direction than the House, which approved its own climate bill last summer.
Environmentalists familiar with Democratic plans say party leaders remain committed to bringing up a bill next year. They are looking to Sen. John Kerrys (D-Mass.) effort to craft a compromise plan with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).
But in a sign of how difficult it will be to cobble together 60 votes, Kerry and Graham have provided few details about what their plan will contain.
They hope to blend emissions limits with wider offshore oil-and-gas drilling, expanded federal financing for nuclear power and lots of support for low-emissions coal projects, among other measures aimed a navigating a thicket of regional and partisan interests.
Graham noted that different senators are proposing a variety of plans for limiting carbon emissions, and he said hes open-minded to what is included in a bill, as long as it is a meaningful control on pollution.

This all depends on the Murkowski amendment to delay EPA for a year.
The amendment as part of the EPA funding bill was blocked. Now, Murkowski's amendment will be heard as part of the debt ceiling legislation in January.
Either way, the underlying question is what the losers do.
Faced with political defeat, what is the best course of action?
Do you admit that you are going to lose and get out in front of the legislation to shape it so that lose less and/or get concessions?
Or do you fight to the end and go down in a big ball of flames?
In this particular issue, does the GOP go down in flames, or do they participate and get the loan guarantees for nukes and more drilling in the eastern gulf?

Maybe Joe will find a reason to knock their skulls together.
Hard.

IF there was any Party discipline and the 'Rat enablers like Snowe, Collins, Cornyn, Graham, McCain, etc., could be counted on, the GOP should use each and every trick in the book to totally shut down the Senate and make sure that NO business goes forward whatsoever. Failing that, the GOP should literally walk out, and STAY out of the Senate.
And they should be waiting in the parking lot for Reid and/or Franken, and then beat the living sh*t out of them if for no other reason than general principle, later saying "my GAWD, what did we DO? we thought some thug was trying to rob us, gee, sorry Harry, sorry Frank!"

GOP Senators could have made a real statement if they had walked out before the vote last week. Instead, they caved, as usual.

Duke Power has a nuke power plant in Seneca, SC. the homes around the lake are a picture of “if you build it they will come.” Multimillon dollar vacation and retirement homes- not to mention a fantastic golf course. This is a model the the Graham’s of the world are promoting - nuke power plants, developments for the wealthy and power for industry. All the rest of the political talk, about the climate, is posturing.
