Janet Napolitano is impressed with Janet Napolitano's work. In an instantly notorious statement on CNN over the weekend, the Homeland Security secretary said "the system worked" when a man boarded a Christmas Day flight from Amsterdam to Detroit with explosives in his underwear that he couldn't quite manage to ignite.
Does "the system" count on all explosive devices smuggled onto international flights not detonating? When Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab set himself on fire while trying to blow up the plane and kill its 278 passengers, a Dutch filmmaker leapt on him, ripped a smoldering object from near his crotch and put it out with his bare hands. Or as Napolitano put it, "Everybody played an important role here."

What kills me is the freedom of travel and immigration we allow Islamic people while THEY have declared war on us anyway. What reason did this kid have to travel to the U.S. in the first place? As far as I'm concerned a legitimate congress would restrict their commercial travel and immigration until THEY deal with this problem within THEIR faith and culture.

The system did not work it failed. and it failed in a huge manner.

Like R. Emmett Tyrrell put it:
“Obama’s Revolving Carousel of Idiots”
... last Week it was Kevin Jennings .... this week Napolitano .... next week, who knows? Some other Admin clown.
For the Republicans, this should be like shooting fish in a barrel. How can they not exploit this?!!
To: Scanian
It’s easy.
1. Do not allow any muslims into our country.
2. All boarding ramps, jetways, gangways, etc must be carpeted with the koran.
3. All passengers must eat a piece of bacon prior to walking on the koran carpet to board.
4. All passengers must spit, urinate or throw darts at a picture of Mohammed prior to boarding.

Mark Steyn was referring to her as “Janet INCOMPETANO” yesterday. Every time he said it, I laughed.

"...a legitimate congress would restrict their commercial travel and immigration until THEY deal with this problem within THEIR faith and culture..." With the Muzzi-In-Chief currently squatting in the WH, this ain't going to happen. Not in America anyway.

I love this comment below the article: Perhaps we can induce the administration to fight the terrorists by telling them that the bombs that they are setting off are causing global warming. That seems to be a much bigger threat in the minds of these nitwits than Islamic extremists who are trying to kill us all.

One of the radio hosts yesterday kept calling her Janet “Incompetano”! LOL!

True, perhaps a new congress will live up to their responsibility.

Drudge has a picture posted of the briefs with the unexploded but partially burned PETN. Based on the placement of the explosive, I would guess that this terrorist will be singing soprano for the rest of his life. And forget about the 72 virgins.

Because we have smooth-talking propagandists like Valerie Jarrett in the WH who, when speaking to squishy-thinkers like Bill O’Reilly, for instance, will say things like, “What’s wrong with Glenn Beck? Why is he persecuting us? We are nice people and we love America too!”
And the Obamanoids will come out smelling like a rose.

Somehow I am reminded of some Italian slag from the old neighborhood - “va fa Napola,” i.e., “go back to Naples” - better translated as “go to hell.”

BARF ALERT!!
(New York Times, 6 June 2009)
(Post Obama Cairo Speech)
"Barack Obama is not just trying to reach out to Muslims for the sake of it, says Mr. Gerges, a professor of Middle Eastern studies at Sarah Lawrence College and an authority on modern jihad. Hes trying to hammer a deadly nail in Osama bin Ladens message. What President Obama understood more than his predecessors, Mr. Gerges says, is that it is not a war that can be won militarily, but only ideologically. Jarret Brachman, a former West Point terrorism expert and author of a recent book, Global Jihadism, said the speech was the most important strategic step weve taken in this war. Thats why Al Qaeda is so nervous, he said. If the medium were the message, the contrasts could not have been more stark. The American president was polished and poised, his speech broadcast from the elegant surroundings of an ancient Arab university, and watched worldwide. Mr. bin Ladens was on an audiotape, crackling and hard to hear, broadcast on Al Jazeera. Osama bin Laden and Ayman Zawahiri have been reduced to a static voice on the radio, a static voice on TV and a static image and message, Mr. Gerges says. The message no longer resonates with Muslims the way it did in the late 90s and after 2001. Has the message from Al Qaeda just become fossilized, a missive from a coelacanth that no longer dares venture out of its deep sea cave, where it slakes its predatory appetites in the dark? We have to put this in a little bit of perspective, says Shibley Telhami, a University of Maryland professor who runs an annual poll of Arab public opinion. Bin Laden still has some support, his intense admirers, but the real difference is that the rest of the Muslim world were embracing him out of anger toward America, and now theyre not.The anger toward America remains, but most people have rejected Al Qaeda as well, Mr. Telhami says."

Bin Laden may not have overwhelming support but does that make anyone feel safer from terrorist attacks? I’m sure we could find hate being taught in the vast majority of Mosques anywhere in the world including right here in the U.S. So who ever thought this issue was just dependent on Bin Laden?
