Mall Melee Involving 100 Rowdy Teens What's the matter with kids today? Updated 11:09 AM EST, Mon, Dec 28, 2009
More than 100 rambunctious teens turned the Westfield Trumbull into a giant mosh pit Saturday night, according to police.
Two teens were ultimately arrested for returning to the after being thrown out by mall security for allegedly bothering customers.
The fight erupted at a bus stop outside the shopping center, said police, and ultimately grew to include more than 100 young people.
Trumbull police say they had to call in Bridgeport and state police officers for backup and were forced to use a stun gun on a 17-year-old who allegedly charged at and knocked down an officer.

Wonder if Lafayette Park was a Simon mall? Simon is a very rich mall builder and a huge donor to Obama and all things liberal.
Not necessarily. It is often thrown in because it is NEVER the Amish, it is the usual suspects. That often means the black yutes that were involved in this little brouhaha.
Believe me, if they had been Amish, it would have been in the headline and mentioned eight times in the article. When there is no mention whatsoever, certain assumptions can safely be made.
In the United States Blacks are the most religious and the most likely to be creationist compared to other races.
It’s always the Amish. Especially the Yoder clan, they’re the worst.
No, WE don’t teach them they came from monkeys, etc......Their parents don’t teach them anything, try to control them or see they are set on the straight and narrow.
The Scriptures you posted are certainly taken out of context.
The Scriptures say that it is the parent’s responsibility to train up their children. That is one reason why God created the family.
Plus, if you notice Romans 1:19: God has been made known to all people. So, these Amish are without personal excuse.
Not sure who originally built it, later it became "Hi-Ho Mall" after a local developer bought it in an effort to 'revitalize' downtown Bridgeport. The developer was named "D'addario" and his company dumptrucks all had the slogan "Hi-Ho D'addario" - as in the "Farmer in the Dell" song.
This article blames the Westfield Mall (Trumbull Shopping Park) for stealing its clientele... but what happened there is known to all locals. The downtown first crumbled when large numbers of blacks moved into Bridgeport - this mall became a war zone, so nobody in their right mind would go there to shop without an armed escort.
The Trumbull Mall was 'safe' at the time.
Those days are over.
A 'mosh pit', which invokes images of 90's-era white kids from Seattle's alternative rock scene tussling about in front of a stage where musicians with squealing guitars wail through amplified speakers, right?
Now here's the arrested perps in what police now call a 'gang-related riot':
I do believe that the unattributed author of this story stretched journalistic license way out of bounds to use the term 'mosh pit' in this case. Too bad we'll never ever know who that journalist was since they didn't sign their name to this report.
uhhhhhhh . . . . oh never mind . . . this is just too easy . . . . . sarcasm: learn to spot it and appreciate it LOL
Exactly the point here. They’re so OBVIOUSLY “not Amish,” but the way these articles are written, they want to obscure the facts that the perps in these situations not only reinforce prior stereotypes, they define the stereotypes.
Since the “objective press” tries to make an art form of leaving doubt in your mind so as to not reinforce the readers’ common sense prejudices, the habit has become on FR to “blame those radical Amish” - because if we’re to believe the idiots in the press, then “any racial/religious group could be involved with equal probability” — and since any blame directed at the Amish brings about a reaction like yours, the “objective media’s” ideals are quickly quashed under an avalanche of cognitive dissonance.
See how this works?
“Man tries to blow himself up on a plane from overseas.”
FR: “Darn Amish, playing with matches again!”
So people disbelieve this, look into it a little (and only a little) deeper and find out that, yes, once again, he’s Muslim.
“Youths riot in a shopping mall!”
FR: “Those darn Amish again! This time, they got a whiff of some corn squeezin’s...”
Reader: “NFW. I’ll bet it was a bunch of black or hispanic gang-bangers... “ (and upon a very little bit of digging, whoa Nellie, so it is!)
See how absurd it makes the press look?
Yo. I guess it be da "Hip-Hop" Mall now.
You think blacks are more religious and creationist than Amish (real ones) or Orthodox Jews?
Do it the pirate way.....
Kill a few....hang there bodies at the mall entrances as a warning to others......
Aaaaargh!
There....fixed....
Which brings to mind the following joke:
Question: What does the sound "Clop, clop, clop, clop, bang, bang, bang, clop, clop, clop, clop" mean?
Answer: Amish drive-by shooting.
unless, it means that all da "ho's be high"...
I was speaking from the general state of youth in our country, when adults ask, “Why do kids today act like this?”
No one can dispute that the Bible was taken from our schools (it used to be the main text book), and replaced with secular humanism.
Romans 1 is not out of context, because it is a divine judgment against those (societies included) having moved away from truth. Parents not teaching their children biblical truth are included.
Folks know it’s usually black kids...saying Amish is pure sarcasm.
That’s all.
It reflects ho the media rarely says if it’s blacks considering most newsrooms are so left and so over minority represented.
But they howl if the perps are crackers.
The following lawsuits will certainly mean the end of that mall.
Don’t you know that it is racist to show actual pictures and not use the phrase “at risk youths”?
