PHOENIX Two men thought to have been acting suspicious aboard a flight bound for Phoenix were detained and questioned by federal anti-terrorism authorities before they were released, the FBI said Sunday.
Transportation Security Administration officials said passengers aboard U.S. Airways Flight 192 from Orlando, Fla., on Saturday night reported that two men, described as Middle Eastern, were acting strangely and talking loudly to each other in a foreign language.

Hell, we’ve forgotten the lessons of 9/11/01, which is much more recent and still in the collective conscious of the nation. We’re back to a pre-9/11 mentality with respect to our government - thankfully the American people are still alert.
I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a lot more stuff like this. Regular people are going to be much more cautious and aware and not afraid of speaking up. At least I hope so.
“Sounds like “AussieJoe” has some inside information! OK AussieJoe, tell us all about your friends.”
Be happy to, what would you like to know?
Are you aware of the fact that the 9/11 terrorists made dry runs on airliners prior to that day? These passengers might be harmless, but how do we really know that? I for one certainly hope that these two are now on somebody’s list and will be watched closely for the forseeable future.
“Id like to know if theres a Mohammed by any chance. If its Jack or Bubba then youre right.”
I just did a google search and apparently ‘Mohammed’ is the 2nd most common name in the world (very quick search, not authoritative but seems reasonable), so you could play the odds and just assume one of them is named Mohammed.
Why are you such a Muslim apologist?..Is your name really Ibrahim Hooper?

Why don’t we list, or better yet, not allow to board any aircraft anywhere, any person of middle eastern appearance? Let’s revoke the presumption of innocence to anyone of middle eastern appearance because we don’t know for sure that they’re not.
By the way, we lost a close family friend in 9/11.
I don’t much give a damn about being PC. Christmas is the reason for the season - not a celebration about a jolly fat man in red. Not all Muslims commit terrorist acts, but nearly all terrorist acts (especially since 9/11) have been committed by Muslims. Profile the b@st@rds and to hell with huring someone’s feelings. The Constitution and Bill of Rights do not give any protections from hurt feelings. As for those who voted for Obozo, I’m betting there’s a lot of buyer’s remorse out there right now, and it’ll grow larger the longer he’s in office.
OK
Okay, I'm game. Let's do that. By the way, our city lost a young lady 21 years of age (flt 93), and a very close friend lost a family member in WTC 2. Seven members of my family spent a combined 12 years in Iraq dodging bullets and IED's - with very close calls for three of them; one being my son. What's your point? Perhaps you need to spend some time researching who we are fighting before you open mouth, insert foot (and chew vigorously while enjoying your filet of sole). Tell me, if Muslims belong to a religion of "peace" why have so very few come out publicly against those who use terrorism to try and destroy the "infidel"??? Just as with the soldiers who have served and are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, I do not trust any of them until they have demonstrated worthy of my trust.

I’ll assume you’re asking a sincere question rather than dishing up a backhanded insult.
I’m no muslim apologist. We’ve lost a close family friend to an act of terrorism and I’ve lost one friend on deployment in the ME. Initially I was as enraged as everyone else after 9/11, at one point I would have danced in celebration had the entire ME been nuked out of existence, but since then I’ve also seen our liberties eroded in absurd ways which have little to do with our security.
The clincher for me has been finding myself abused on two occasions, and discriminated against once on the assumption that I am middle eastern (I look somewhat middle eastern, but I’m not). So when someone here says “they caught a terrorist trying to blow up a plane, feed him to the dogs” I say HELL YES!. But when a couple of people are detained, searched, and interrogated by the FBI, and as a result it is established that they are NO THREAT and innocent of any wrongdoing yet some here want them publicly named, others want to treat them as guilty through completely unfounded suspicion and ‘listed’, then I have a problem with that.
Apart from the fact that it could very well have been me and one of my very NON middle eastern buddies in that scenario, villifying innocent people is EXACTLY what terrorists want us to do, that’s how they use us against ourselves to erode away our way of life. I’ll be the first to throw a terrorist of any race/religion/nationality to the dogs, but I’ll also stand up for an innocent man REGARDLESS of his race/religion/nationality or politics for that matter.

I’m sorry for your loss, I know what you went/are going through. This is not about muslims, it’s about profiling on appeareance. If you saw me you’d most probably assume I’me middle eastern and subsequently muslim. You’d be wrong yet some here would still be OK with publicly naming me and putting me on a ‘list’, that’s my only point.
And how long had you *known* Mohammed Atta?
/sarc>
Hey, if these people feel singled out and feel their civil liberties are being violated, they merely have their radical Muslim brothers, cousins, uncles, grandfathers, etc. to thank. I personally do not want profiling to end against these people, because as someone on this thread so eloquently put it, “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but MOST terrorists are Muslim”..I say if we err, we err on the side of caution and on the side our National, and personal securities.
Most of the erosion of liberties is due to the leftist PC charade that this isn't due to radical ISLAM.
But we don't have the balls to do the things which would need to be done to stop the jihad.
Cheers!

You really think that’s funny? You should be ashamed of yourself.
I had several friends in college who were from Iraq and Iran, and one from Oman. They were extremely unhappy with their respective governments (except my friend from Oman, whose government is friendly with the West). The Iraqi’s had lost family members from Saddam’s goon squads, and wished that the U.S. had removed Saddam during the 1991 war (if we had their family members would be alive today). I did not have any sense these men held any animosity towards our country. Despite this, I say profile. Ronald Reagan’s “Trust, but verify” is prudent. If someone’s feelings are hurt, well, sorry, but hurt feelings holds no sway with me over dead bodies.
Think back...last year those “praying” muzzies making a big show and upset in the airport.
Then a couple months ago the 8 of them was it on the flight from Atlanta to Houston making use of phones and switching seats when the flight crew told them to turn off the electronics and sit down and then another incident about a month ago on another flight, I think to FL where the same conduct was experienced on that flight.
They are obvious and are testing and probing for soft spots.
They will now do things to make pests of themselve to deflect attention from terrorist stunts so they can yell discrimination. Send them all packing back to their own nasty sandpiles.
