Voting Section Chief Out Amid Controversy (New Black Panthers Intimidation Case)
MainJustice.com ^ | Sunday, December 27, 2009 | Ryan J. Reilly

Veteran Civil Rights Division attorney Christopher Coates is no longer chief of the Voting Section, according to the division’s Web site.

There was no official announcement of the personnel change in the long-troubled section, which most recently has been embroiled in the controversy over the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case. Main Justice noticed the change on the Voting Section Web site.

Taking over for Coates in an acting role is Chris Herren, a deputy chief of the section, according to the Web site.

Alejandro Miyar, a spokesman for the Civil Rights Division, wasn’t available for comment Sunday. Coates did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. It could not be learned whether Coates left the department entirely or transferred to another post.

Coates signed off on the controversial voter intimidation complaint against the New Black Panther Party and three of its members, filed in the waning days of the George W. Bush administration. The Obama DOJ’s decision to dismiss most of the charges in May has become a political controversy for the administration.

Coates also supervised J. Christian Adams, the career Voting Section attorney who compiled the Black Panther case. Adams, who has a history of conservative advocacy, was hired in 2005 by then-Civil Rights Division official Bradley Scholzman, a Bush political appointee who improperly politicized the hiring process in the division, the department’s Inspector General and Office of Professional Responsibility found in a joint investigation.

Coates had been listed on the Web site as chief of the Voting Section as late as Dec. 20.

Coates did what Obama wanted, and now he is the whipping boy, thrown under the bus. His mistake: he should have played the Civil Rights Organization a little spin and hanky panky , delaying his decision not to prosecute for another year until after the 2010 election.

UNDER THE BUS COATES!

You can probably follow a link to John Podesta who is the President and CEO of the Center for American Progress and that nasty jerk Norman Lear (television producer) People For the American Way where Anthony Podesta is a former President which monitors “right-wing” activities

******

Some of the left-wing radicals claim...

The Section 11 (b) civil authority under which the Black Panthers lawsuit was filed is rarely used, since criminal acts of voter intimidation are usually referred for prosecution.

The complaint Adams drafted was also signed by Christopher Coates, chief of the Voting Section, and then-acting Assistant Attorney General Grace Chung Becker, a Bush political appointee who failed to win Senate confirmation over Democrats’ concerns she wasn’t committed to enforcing anti-discrimination laws to protect minorities.

“We clearly communicate our expectations [to Civil Rights Division attorneys]. If you meet those expectations that are transparent, then we want you to continue as long as you want to be there,” Perez added, in another session with reporters after a speech at the National Press Club last Friday. “And if you don’t, we hold you accountable.”

Adams compiled the lawsuit against the Black Panthers, two of whom stood outside a majority-black Philadelphia polling place in November 2008 in military-style fatigues, one of them carrying a nightstick. After the Obama DOJ dismissed of the most of the complaint in May, outraged conservatives called for investigations into whether politics played an improper role in the decision.

They’re just trying to clean up the waist-high sh*t in their stables — get it down to knee-high — as we move into an election year.

But hey, how’s that NYC terror trial working out for you guys, Barry and Eric?

Everything that bastard 0bozo touches or is involved with, including the bastard thugs who work for the kenyan commie pig usurper, ends up becoming another corrupt POS in 0bozo’s cesspool of corruption. I fear our country is already well on its way to becoming the first western country to mimic Zimbabwe, courtesy of the kenyan commie pig 0bozo. When will some patriotic military officers realize that our country is lost forever unless the military takes action to remove 0bozo & his fellow band of commie islamic thugs from office and to throw them into a military prison, charged with high crimes & treason against the U.S.

Over on that site there is a link to a page that allows you to “Track leadership changes in the 93 U.S. Attorney offices, with Bush holdovers and Obama candidates.”

I seem to remember that the leftards lost their minds when Bush fired about 8 US attorneys. Looking at that page, it would seem that the Bamtard has already fired more than half of them.

It sets a damaging precedent. Besides, we elected this dolt, we deserve it.

I know I did not, and I am pretty sure you did not vote for this kenyan commie pig, 0bozo. We already have an incredibly damaging precedent in the fact that we very likely have a non-U.S. citizen, let alone a natural born U.S. citizen who was devious & deceitful & fraudulant to get elected as Pres____ent of the U.S. I don’t think we deserved it, but unfortunately we are paying the price for the gross negligence & stupidity of 53% of the U.S. Socialists & socialism will never retreat on its own. I believe we need to follow our Declaration of Independence and “alter or abolish the current form of government” when it becomes destructive to its original intent of life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness for its citizens. Only a military coup or secession will take down this commie pig bastard 0bozo.

And Ted Kennedy blocked some nominees because he wanted to affect the possible outcome of some pending court cases (that and he thought some of the nominees might help the GOP with hispanic voters).

Scumbucket Kennedy is out of the Senate. He can do no more harm to this country (as he did when he betrayed America to side with the Soviets in the Reagan years).

But yes, the Bush judicial nominees will remain a subject “overlooked” by the Left.

Why are we so intimdated by this filth? All it takes is a prosecuter, a lawyer, jury, judge, and hangman.

Look at the countries that have gone down that road...Like all of Spain’s former colonies.

Argentina used to be a wonderful country, prosperous and peaceful. Then the coups started, including the one that installed the child-molesting Nazi Juan Peron and his prostitute faux wife Eva Duarte.

Even the so-called “dirty war,” during which normal people took strong measures against leftist would-be slavemasters, failed to eradicate the evil ushered in by that coup.

It just could be that a coup is the worst of all choices.

Last time I looked, that duty fell on Congress, NOT the military.
