ABC News' Yunji de Nies Reports:
White House sources tell ABC News the President will "likely" speak publicly about the alleged attempted terrorist attack on Flight 253 in the next few days. The President is on vacation in his native state of Hawaii - he has received regularly briefings on the incident and called for increased security for air travel, along with a full review of the terror watch list procedures. While the White House is adamant that the President is actively engaged on the incident behind the scenes, on Saturday he spent more than four hours on the golf course and is spending Sunday with his family at the beach, all the while, he has yet to address the American people directly.

Asked about the President's mood during what was supposed a "news-free" vacations, an aide said Mr. Obama is doing is best to "recharge his batteries" but stressed that the President is very concerned about what is going on in the world and is actively engaged at all levels.

According to (WaPo)Kornblut's pool report:
"We did not actually lay eyes on him as the motorcade circled through the military base and dropped him off. We are told that he'll have a longer excursion today a workout and then some basketball with 'friends and staff.' It is strongly believed that some of his golf buddies from yesterday will play, as will Reggie Love and Ben Finkenbinder.
"Burton has passed along this statement from President Obama on the passing of Percy Sutton: 'Percy Sutton was a true hero to African Americans in New York City and around the country. We will remember him for his service to the country as a Tuskegee Airman, to New York State as a state assemblyman, to New York City as Manhattan Borough president, and to the community of Harlem in leading the effort to revitalize the world renowned Apollo Theater. His life-long dedication to the fight for civil rights and his career as an entrepreneur and public servant made the rise of countless young African Americans possible. Michelle and I extend our deepest condolences to his family on this sad day.'"
"Obama wrapped up his gym excursion a little after 8:30 a.m. The basketball guest list included: Marty Nesbitt, Eric Whitaker, Denis McDonough, Bill Burton, Reggie Love, Pete Newell, Grant Campbell and Ben Finkenbinder. They played at least a couple of games. No word yet on the score.
Obama's motorcade left for Kailua at 8:33 a.m. then left the vacation home at 11 a.m., having to slow down on the way back to Marine Corps Base Hawaii "to avoid hitting a dog that was wandering between the cars."
"Apparently he and the family are going to the beach here on the base. But we won't see him/them. The beach is not open to the public today apparently it is usually open to the public on Sundays but has been closed for POTUS (President Of The United States).
"Friends and family are assumed to be in attendance, along with some staff."
The list, ping
We are all wandering aimlessly through life waiting on ‘dear leader’ to ‘guide’ us. /s
In a few days??? What’s the rush?
I have also observed in the ABC news releases the emphasis on Hawaii being Obies “native state” or the place where “he grew up” etc. Are they a little sensitive about the BC?
Please resign (immediately) as POTUS, stay in Hawaii, keep your “cabinet” with you and never, ever set foot on the Mainland U.S. again. Please, please just lead a private life and never speak to the MSM again. Oh, demand that Jimmah Carter and all Congressional Commie Libs permanently join you there.
To All FReepers: I can dream can't I?
What’s the problem? I’m sure a tele-prompter and camera can be golf-carted to his highness.
Maybe staffers didn’t pack a teleprompter.
I’d willingly kick in money to kick him permanently on vacation. Not resign...just stay unavailable. Until a change can be made election day.
I don’t care what you have to say, Barky, and I won’t be watching.
Baghdad Barry sez: "The system worked!"
Right.....he needn’t trouble himself....we know he could care less that America was attacked again by a terrorist.
We further understand that it was HIS State Dept (yes, he could blame it on Hillary) that botched / or blocked / the info from the terrorist’s father that his son was a danger to this country (and should not be allowed on a plane coming here....).
But if he does speak, I can already tell you what he will say.,.
1. Bush’s fault (no fly list going back YEARS needs to be updated = how it is composed)
2. Everyone (the flying public) must make sacrifices to see that this doesn’t happen again....HA HA HA.....everyone except him and the people who SHOULD be stopping these terrorists from getting on our planes or into this country
3. We must not assume anything, innocent til proven guilty, Holder says he is an alleged terrorist and all that; he will be given the full benefit of the US Justice system just as he has already been given the full benefit of our hospitals and health system.
4. Now back to basketball, golf, surf and sun for me and mine and too bad America.....but I am on top of the situation....
I join your dream!
Which leads to the question why? Axelrod is not stupid. Obama's big donors are not stupid. Why are they creating this impression of him? It would be very easy for them to have him hunker down in D.C., make a big point of being a man of the people, sharing their pain and so on and so on...
He and TOTUS can make a flying leap to Davy Jones Locker, for all I care.
Wonder if he'll give a shout out before saying anything about the incident. We can't jump to conclusions, you know.
He just wants to eat his waffle....play golf....shoot baskets....or whatever.
No time for the actual business of being CiC.
He’ll probably have to come out and make a speech since his DHS Sec stepped on her d*** this morning.
