Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."
I don’t think I’d call either Janet, Napalitono or Reno, a “Wench”.
Similarly, a raccoon left a steaming pile on my patio last night.

It all boils down to the fact that mechanical failure of the detonating device saved this plane. Otherwise, a plane FULL of flying Dutchmen would have been useless. However, I think that God used that man to prevent further damage. He is a hero.
We’re not paranoid—people really ARE out to get us! Between our so-called “security” and the Congress’ unlimited powers, we all have a great big bull’s eye on our chests.
I think it is time for me to go to the gun store, and get some lessons. I need to learn to protect myself and my family. Maybe that system will work, God help me.
Wow, AIT, thanks for a reality check. It’s like Voice of America in reverse. We really do have to consult outside news sources for the truth.
I see this whole incident as a metaphor for the USA under increasing soft tyranny. Our own “ship of state,” like this aircraft, will survive because of the will and goodness of patriotic American citizens watching each others’ backs.
Lately my prayers have been answered “No” with regard to the health care takeover votes in House and Sentate. I’ve also been imploring God to show his powerful hand for all to see. Well, I think He DID on this flight. I now bow my head and thank Him.
Amsterdam is one of the world’s major airline hubs. My daughter’s mission team flew through there twice in recent months. If she had been on this particular flight, I wonder what my state of mind would be? I know I would be thankful, of course, followed by nail-spitting rage and wrath. I wonder how much Cain will be raised about all of this by anxious passengers and their relatives?
