ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The 23-year-old man police say tried to blow up a Delta airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit has been arraigned in his hospital bed at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Action News reporter Peggy Agar and an Associated Press reporter were chosen to witness the arraignment. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has been charged with attempting to destroy an aircraft and placing a destructive device onboard an aircraft. The charges were filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit.
Investigators say the Nigerian flew from his home country to Amsterdam where he board the flight to Detroit with an explosive device attached to his leg. Witnesses say that during flight he went to the bathroom where he remained for about 20 minutes. It was after he returned, and during the flight's final approach to Metro, that witnesses reported hearing what sounded like firecrackers and smelled smoke.
The passengers than tackled Abdulmutallab and put out the small fire that the explosives had started. He was then restrained until he could be removed from the plane by law enforcement officials. According to federal investigators, a flight attendant asked what he had in his pocket after he was subdued. They say he replied an "explosive device." Abdulmutallab suffered burns to his legs. Several passengers were also injured.
Investigators with the FBI have analyzed the device used in the attack. They say it contained the high explosive Pentaerythritol tetranitrate, also known as PETN. This is the same explosive Richard Reid used in his attempt to blow up a plane using explosives hidden in his shoes in 2001.
In announcing the charges, US Attorney General Eric Holder said "This alleged attack on a U.S. airplane on Christmas Day shows that we must remain vigilant in the fight against terrorism at all times. Had this alleged plot to destroy an airplane been successful, scores of innocent people would have been killed or injured. We will continue to investigate this matter vigorously, and we will use all measures available to our government to ensure that anyone responsible for this attempted attack is brought to justice."
Uh, idiot you idiot (holder), not only would everybody on the plane would be DEAD, but possibly ground casualties, too.
I don't think we're out of the woods yet. God knows how many other idiot jihdis have been mobilized.

Let us not forget Khobar Towers. 19 US servicemen dead.
Everything is “alleged” until something happens in a court of law. I know that’s nonsense talk, but, Eric Holder means technically, legally, that these are just allegations now.
I know it’s stupid. The Ft. Hood guy “allegedly” massacred people. The people aren’t allegedly dead, they really are dead. But that’s what you get with politically correct legal thinking.
Perhaps he didn’t even have a passport at Amsterdam

...and to wash it down:
(Hey, we don't want to waste any of the *good* stuff on him...)
Cheers!
I am really quite certain the Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, wrote in the Q'uran that the use of painkillers is forbidden to those who would enter into Paradise.
In her live TV report, Peggy (Sweetie) Agar went on to describe how gentle and politely soft-spoken the terrorist was during the legal proceedings inside the hospital...how young and calm he looked, etc. The fact that he smiled and how she actually made eye contact with him...WTF???
