A White House official said the incident was an attempted act of terrorism. The FBI is investigating and President Obama, celebrating Christmas in Hawaii, was told of the incident about three hours after the plane landed, officials said.
Obama has told White House officials that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel, a spokesman said. Nevertheless, officials said, they are not prepared to raise the terrorism alert level, currently at orange -- or the second-highest of five levels -- for domestic and international air travel.

Well, we know for Bill Clinton, it wasn’t one skyscraper, nor two embassies, nor a miitary barracks, nor was a Navy destroyer enough...hiding his sexcapades and distracting from his court appearances was enough to launch Desert Fox air raids, though!
The irony being that the UK papers are willing to expose Obama’s myriad of failures, while our press is cheerleading for him.

Two problems:
First, none of the passengers--not one--had injuries consistent with a bomb detonation.
Second, there's this, From Wikipedia but footnoted from the investigation report:
The loud transient noise at the end of Flight 800s Cockpit Voice Recorder tape was compared to the similar noises on the recorders of two 747s that were destroyed by bombs in the forward cargo compartment, Pan Am 103 and Air India 182. It was also compared to the event on the tape of United 811, a 747-100 which suffered an explosive decompression due to failure of the forward cargo compartment, and with the explosion recorded on the CVR tape of a Philippine Airlines 737 which had suffered a fuel/air mixture explosion in its center wing tank on the ground. The bombed aircraft tapes showed a very rapid rise in noise level, brief duration, and a very rapid decline in the noise of the explosion. In the case of the other three aircraft, including TWA 800, the rate of the rise of the noise was more gradual, the duration of peak noise longer, and the decline of the noise was more gradual.
I wasn't using hyperbole when I said a bomb or missile would have to violate the laws of physics.
The problem is the difference in time zones and someone has screwed up.
The incident would have had to take place before 7 am in Hawaii. At the time, did the guy claim he was AQ or did it come out in the FBI interview?
Maybe Obamanazi wasnt told until the FBI interview which would correlate to the 9- to 9:30 time frame...and they are trying to cover up that he didn’t know as the incident was going down in the air...as they are now trying to claim.
The fact is that they had no way to know if this was an isolated incident or if we were about to have 4 planes try to hit targets.
No excuse for them not getting Obamanazi up or finding him where he was.. So is the order not to bother him unless “ this” happens...

They're certainly covering for him - putting the two pieces of information needed to calculate the delay as far apart in the article as possible - but it would be interesting to know whether they're doing it on their own (my guess) or at the Administration's request.
