A 23-year-old Nigerian man tried to light a powdery substance aboard a Northwest Airlines flight before landing in Detroit on Friday, a senior U.S. counterterrorism official told NBC News.
Two people noticed the attempt and a third person jumped on the man and subdued him, an airline official told NBC News.
The man is being treated at the burn unit of the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, officials said.
The man told investigators that he wanted to set off a bomb over the United States, and the incident is being handled as a possibile terrorism attack by both law enforcement and intelligence agencies, senior counterterrorism officials said.

I disagree. Quick trial by jury. If found guilty by fellow passengers, Captain pushes a stick and the accused and sentenced immediately departs the a/c via some sort of ejection device.

It was the same incident. The liberal media reported it as fireworks because they don’t want people to think it was a muslim terrorist attack on Christmas.

Well, if it went off in his lap, I hope it burned his gonads off so he won’t be able to reproduce anymore little jihadists. As for those who jumped him, and assuming he was attempting a terrorist act, too bad they didn’t break his neck. That would’ve solved a host of problems, me thinks. However, the current government wouldn’t think so, would they?
