To a muslim, Jesus is only a prophet. Not the Son of God. Muslims can’t wrap their heads around the Trinity principle.

Mr. Obama, so far as we know, is the BIGGEST pro-abortion citizen of these United States.

“I don’t want them(his daughters)to be punished with a baby!”

This is a remarkably cruel and sinful thing to say.

God help us.

Jesus was not a socialist. He was a REALIST. Jesus’s values and philosophy never even approach that of socialism. In fact, if anything, Jesus was a capitalist. Jesus was a carpenter by profession and trade and it is that how he made his living. It is only later in life where he became a preacher and teacher of Christianity. But Jesus lived by the precepts of Christianity long before he began preaching about them. Of course back then there was also a barter type system, an exchange of trades and services rather than currency.

...or perhaps an early Robin Hood.

Robin Hood did not steal from the rich and give to the poor. He got money that had been taken by confiscatory taxes, and returned it to its proper owners.

There is not one single instance in the New Testament where Jesus took money from one person and gave it to another. He gave from what he had, which, in a material sense, was not a great deal.

If 0bama wanted to really follow the example of Jesus, he would advocate for the abolishing of all taxes. Then he could preach to the American people about how it is good to share with those with material needs from your abundance.

God is not mocked. It is not good to pervert the Gospel for your own ends. It is obvious that 0bama does not believe in the living God. May God bring it all down on the heads of those who mock Him.

Obama is by no means the first nor the only usurper of power to pervert Christianity into a justification of himself. Outside of a handful of countries based on English law, there are few if any countries calling themselves "Christian" that have governments most of us would want to live under.

A question I've been trying to research is: What happened in England several hundred years ago that caused them to stop perverting Christianity into justification for authoritarianism (e.g., get rid of the "divine right of kings" doctrine, etc.)?

Jesus’ Parable of the talents found in both the Gospels of Mathew and Luke where the master reward those servants were industrious with his money and punished the servant who was not doesn’t sound much like socialism to me.

The president spoke of what Jesus “symbolizes for people all around the world,” which he said, “is the possibility of peace and people treating each other with respect.”

WRONG. But then the lying apostate has said that Jesus to him is a "historical figure".

Jesus is the SAVIOR of Man. He died for our sins.

We should love one another as we do ourselves.

But Barack Hussein Obama is lying about Christianity. Then again he was raised by 2 muslim fathers and an agnostic mother and a Unitarian grandmother.

What a dumbass. He should not try to pretend to know Jesus anymore. He should see some minister other than the hate filled Jeremiah Wright (the former muslim bigot who reportedly was the one who brought Obama to Jesus as an adult).

BUMP

The wise men were not going to see Jesus because he was born in a manger and needing nice gifts.

They travelled great distance because they saw the signs that the Son of God had arrived.

Being that the planks of socialism include to destroying God, morality and free will, it's kind of hard to see Jesus advocating it.

Of course you won't find a socialist who would acknowledge these facts if they are evil enough to foist this pathetic strawman of an argument on you.

And then, in the best tradition of a community organizer, the president said Jesus is about “doing something for other people.”

It's really annoying when non-Christians try to pontificate on the meaning of Christmas. Yes Obama, Jesus DID do something for other people...HE DIED FOR THIR SINS SO THEY MIGHT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...not that Obama would have a clue about all that stuff judging from the hate that spewed from the pulpit of the church he occassionally attended.

Even the “three wise men” were invoked to support the president’s idea of wealth redistribution: “. . . [T]hese guys . . . have all this money, they’ve got all this wealth and power, and they took a long trip to a manger just to see a little baby.”

Interesting example Obama chose there. The difference is that they choose to give the gifts. Obama's version has Herod confiscating the gifts, going to Bethlehem to find the baby and murder it in the name of health care.

'Four' is correct in observing that it is unwise to assign today's political labels to Jesus.

With that said, however, we are not the first Americans to examine Jesus's philosophy as it relates to how that philosophy, within the confines of the individual human hearts of members of a society, might make that society more benevolent and charitable.

As a matter of fact, the writer of our nation's Declaration of Independence, which he said reflected the "American mind" of the time, Thomas Jefferson examined carefully the words and teachings of Jesus.

Jefferson wrote that Jesus "preached philanthropy and universal charity and benevolence," that "a system of morals is presented to us [by Jesus], which, if filled up in the style and spirit of the rich fragments he left us, would be the most perfect and sublime that has ever been taught by man."

He stated, "His moral doctrines...were more pure and perfect than those of the most correct of the philosophers...and they went far beyond both in inculcating universal philanthropy, not only to kindred and friends, to neighbors and countrymen, but to all mankind, gathering all into one family, under the bonds of love, charity, peace, common wants, and common aids," which, Jefferson said, "will evince the peculiar superiority of the system of Jesus over all others."

Comparing the Hebrew code which, according to Jefferson, "laid hold of actions only," "He [Jesus] pushed his scrutinies into the heart of man; erected his tribunal in the region of his thoughts, and purified the waters at the fountain head."

That Jefferson cut out the statements which he believed to be directly attributable to Jesus, pasted them into a little book which he kept by his bed and, by his own words, read from them daily, might lead one to conclude that his political philosophy probably was influenced by what he considered to be the superiority of the "philosophy" of Jesus.

Jefferson's devotion to liberty and to the ideas essential to liberty were based on simple principles, some of which, undoubtedly, came from his understanding of the basic law underlying all valid human law: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

With reference to my Post #27, a note should be added that Jefferson never advocated that the philosophy of Jesus allowed for any group of individuals to get together and pass laws that coerced other people into giving up the hard-earned fruits of their labors so that their own ambitions for power would be satisfied, under whatever guise they might choose for accumulating that power.

As a matter of fact, he stated: "A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson

And, "The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately, by the grace of God." (to Roger Weightman, Writings 1517)

Apparently, this Administration and Congress believe they are that "favored few" Jefferson decried as being illegitimate rulers, not statesmen representing their masters, "We, the People."

Barry knows as much about Christmas, or Jesus Christ, as I do about Brain surgery.
Mark 12:17 (King James Version)
And Jesus .. said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

That is NOT 'socialism'.
But hey, what can you expect from Obama. He learned all he knows about Jesus from the good Reverend 'God Damn America' Wright!
