I thought Obama saying this was the lie of the year..

“I, Barack Hussein Obama, will...preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

The UK, the home of Orwell.

Orwell was issuing a warning, and perhaps a prediction, but not a desire.

And I wish the phrase “death panels” was more hyperbole than truth. Unfortunately, it’s quite apt.

Another great candidate for “lie of the year.”

The term "death panel" is synonymous with "rationed care," with medicines and procedures decided upon by bureaucrats and politicians who use biased policies to determine who is more valuable to save vs who should be allowed to die.

When the ObamaCare cuts $500 billion from Medicare, mostly from senior citizens who have already paid into the system, "death panels" are a reality that is pre-determined to occur to the people you love the most — and eventually, to you.

Sarah was spot on.

“Sarah was spot on.”

Yep, look at the numerous stories from Canada of folks who had to flee to our free (at the time) American system to get care, otherwise they would have died under rationed healthcare.

Keep at them with the truth, it WILL work in the end!

See a left-wing bias here? And the runners-up ...

PolitiFact readers overwhelming chose Sarah Palin’s claim that the health care bill contains “death panels” as Lie of the Year. A resounding 61 percent of our 4,864 voters picked death panels as the top lie. No other finalist in the field of eight statements came close.

Here are the runners-up:

• With 12.3 percent of the vote, a claim by conservative talk show host Glenn Beck that John Holdren, President Barack Obama’s top science adviser, “has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population.”

• With 8.7 percent of the vote, a claim by Orly Taitz that a birth certificate showed that President Obama was born in Kenya.

• With 7.1 percent of the vote, President Obama’s statement that “preventive care saves money.”

Rounding out the rest of the finalists:

• 5.8 percent: The shout of “You lie!” by Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., in response to President Obama saying health reform would not insure illegal immigrants.

• 3.2 percent: The claim that Page 92 of the House health care bill “says specifically that people can’t purchase private health insurance after a date certain,” said by Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.

• 1.7 percent: The claim that “When one person sneezes, it goes all the way through the aircraft,” said by Vice President Joe Biden, when fears of swine flu were prevalent.

• 0.5 percent: The claim that an amendment to the House health reform bill “puts new restrictions on women’s access to abortion coverage in the private health insurance market even when they would pay premiums with their own money,” said by Rep. Nita Lowey, D-N.Y.

There’s a van at my daughter’s (Catholic) high school with a bumper sticker that reads:

The truth is the truth even if no one believes it

Oh, Paul, you poor dope. The death panels aren't in the Obama/Reid/Pelosi health bill; they are in the already passed stimulus bill.

He might have been telling the truth. Has anyone counted the number of employees added to the government payroll since that statement?

I believe the Telegraph is only reporting the panel and it's heavily loaded political hate. Nothing to do with the Telegraph it's self.

I would like to digress a little. Of course by the Grace of God and my hospital treatment as a very young person in the UK, I am still here. Sadly I do know very well the stories going the rounds about a form of euthanasia practiced there. I do not have any facts though. My great aunt had Parkinson's disease. It may have been brought on by a house being bombed next door. She was 63 years old. She told her daughter she was on borrowed time, while in the hospital. She never made it out.

The legend and it may be an urban legend in England, was said to be "withdrawal of fluids". I say this because I do not trust bleeding heart liberals. This breed is universal and need to be watched. They care not for the persons who have served their time and are considered no longer any use.

Big lie my foot. Sarah is the gold.
