Olbermann Demographic: Bad Mothers?
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 12/23/2009 3:58:53 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Does Keith Olbermann have some special appeal to bad mothers? The question arises in light of a TV ad for something called FloTV that aired this morning.

A mother is giving dinner to her kids when she glances at the clock, notices it's shortly before 6 PM, and proceeds to dump the kids plates and toys, pour a bag of flour on the table and . . . throw a glass of milk in her son's face [see still shot after jump].

Cut to shocked coming-home-from-work hubby at the door. Mom informs him "I just need an hour." Cut to mother, sitting on park bench, watching . . . Keith Olbermann on her cellphone.

That’s reassuring ;-) But seriously, I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has seen the TV ad with other shows displayed on the cell phone.

The whole thing makes sense. One outraged woman watching another perpetually outraged woman on tv? It is the perfect demographic for Olberwomann.

It’s a nice way for Keith to say he’s pro-abortion.

Yes, let’s all make little wisecracks about Keith Olbermann. That will solve the problem of the liberal media. Just keep giving him more publicity.

Forget about conservative commentators and papers.Just keep watching and posting stuff about the liberals you all love to hate.

Great strategy folks.

At NewsBusters, where I originally posted this item, our stated mission is “exposing and combating liberal media bias.” We do believe there’s value in keeping tabs on what the liberal media are up to.

Wonderful, great public service. You’re the first to note that there is a liberal media bias. No one else is aware of it. Not the Media Research Center, not Accuracy in Media, etc etc.

I guess this means I’ll have to turn to Media Matters for America to learn what the conservative media is doing?

Funny thing about conservatives they would rather learn something negative about liberals than something positive about conservatives.

Take the lady who wanted to know why someone doesn’t challenge the ACLU. Totally unaware of the ACLJ. I’ve written about them. She probably never bothered to read the Bulletin. Too busy getting her daily outrage about what some twerp nitwit sportscaster at MSNBC is saying.

Meanwhile, the conservative newspapers go bankrupt from lack of readership.

Like I said, great strategy. Then people wonder how it is the Dems retook the White House and Congress and conservatives have a tough time getting rid of the RINO’s.

Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know - with all your extensive knowledge of the liberal media - Olbermann got his start as a sportscaster and still does sports occasionally.

NewsBusters is part of Media Research Center. I get it: you think tracking the liberal media is a bad idea. Others are interested in keeping knowing what the other side is up to, and in the case of this particular post, inflicting on our culture.

I’m with you, show it, post it, comment on it.

“I get it: you think tracking the liberal media is a bad idea.”

First, you weren’t tracking the liberal media. You just posted something about a commercial for FloTV that featured Olbermann. So that is a specious comment. (I also don’t think you even know what FloTV is.)

Second, there are plenty of people tracking the liberal media - Lord knows why. How often do we have to be told the media is liberal? Doesn’t everyone get it yet?

I mean how much does it take to know that tonight on MSNBC Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Ed Schulz and Chris Matthews are going to say something:

A- Derogatory
B- Fatuous
C- False

about conservatives, Republicans and Tea Partyers.

Wow -Stop the Presses folks.

Finally, I guess you think supporting conservative media is a bad idea. You’d rather post idiotic things that the liberals say and do.

Why don’t you just admit that you’re not trying to “track the liberal media.” You just find it more amusing to scream at the liberals than cheer for conservatives.

This is the attitude that makes the liberal Democrats the majority party and that keeps the conservative Republicans always digging themselves out of a hole.

As I said, meanwhile, conservative newspapers like my paper, The Bulletin shuts down and the Washington Times is going broke.

Oh wow really clever. Now that is the kind of wit we need. Was this an orignal thought or was it something you copied from Keith Olbermann?

Checked out some of your articles at the Human Events site and which I thoroughly agreed with them:

That being said, criticizing what a person reads and posts I find to be too authoritarian.
FYI I was a subscriber to the hard print Washington Times for years and have signed up for its on line edition.

Come on people get serious. You can’t keep putting down liberals. You got to start boosting conservatives.
