Mark's Dems Strategic / GOP Tactical Theory
National Review ^

Posted on 12/22/2009 5:40:19 PM PST by Blue Turtle

For my money, I think the theory is being borne out: Democrats have their eyes on a different end-game than our guys do: namely, the establishment of permanent, European-style socialism in the U.S. Our guys are focused on converting Obama radicalism into big-time electoral success in the next election cycle. The Dems have already factored in that likelihood and are betting — over the long haul — that even if the GOP cuts deeply into Dem majorities or takes over Congress (and even takes over the White House in 2012), Republicans will lack the commitment (and perhaps the numbers) to roll back what the Left is accomplishing now.

I would have said "the establishment of permanent, Soviet-style Communism in the U.S." as a more accurate description...

I’m inclined to agree with this view. I can’t think of any other reason that the ‘Rat Party is so willing to risk losing control of Congress again.

This article is on the mark.

The Republicans could of rolled back 50 years of socialism when they had all the power... but they blew it.

What makes you think things will be different this time... sigh.

Well, what is worse is I have yet to see a coherent election strategy form, 2010 is almost here, and yet the dissatisfaction with the Dhimmis has yet to be coalesced and focused into a message as of yet.

As for the Dems thinking long term, their problem is the “plan” is unworkable, the US will be functionally a Banana Republic and all those plans cannot be funded.

That's why we need a third party which has voice. How obvious is it that the Republican establishment has NO ideological statement whatsoever, just reactionary response to the Left.

Conservatism is the great privilege of living one's own decisions, called freedom or human dignity, possible only through consciously responsible citizens.

They did not roll it back because Karl Rove had a plan as well, put the Northeast in play and create a permanent Republican Majority by stealing issues from the Dhimmis.

The problem was the Wars did not go as planned and Conservatives would not put up with implementation.

The Tea Party needs to find a leader that can organize them into a viable political party that can compete with the other two parties.

The plan is not for them to work. The plan is to create a system in which the state controls resources and creates artificial scarcity for the purposes of social control and patronage (Party bosses and the politically connected fared quite well in the USSR while the average Soviet citizen lived a life a privation).

The way to do it is to do what the Democrats did:choose leaders who have commitment.

[The Republicans could of rolled back 50 years of socialism when they had all the power... but they blew it.]

Country Club Republicans are into gentile comity and bipartisanship - when Democrats are out to kill us all. And yes, they want to kill us all, whether through abortion or euthanasia or global warming catastrophism, or turning food corn to ethanol, or fiscal through nihilism. We brought rubber duckies to a war when Democrats brought Big Bertha.

I’ve dealt with these types on both sides on the nuclear waste issue, our guys were always scared when I told them we had to fight to the death. I’m not listening this time around, I fight to win, til the last dog standing. We are done as a nation for the next fifty years if we don’t all do the same.

The Democrat party is dominated primarily by third-rate personalities or by sociopaths.

It's not possible for such people to have any long term plan for anything.

All we have to do is use our first big win ~ whether of the House, the Senate, both or the Presidency itself is eliminate them.

Yes, I said "eliminate" and meant it. For entirely too long ~ since 1865 in fact ~ the Democrats have counted on the Republicans not having the will to dispose of the Democrat party.

This doesn't mean we round them up and slaughter them ~ but that we use legal means to delegitimize their organizational elements and prohibit their politicians from even running for office, getting employment in this country, or otherwise influencing affairs of government in any way.

Obviously we have a lot of work ahead of us ~ judges to be removed and bankrupt (nothing like a bad credit rating to keep you out of the finer circles and cocktail parties), former appointees to be treated similarly, top level federal career bureaucrats to be demoted, and those they've promoted during Democrat regimes also demoted and removed to a special "turkey farm" where they get GS 2 pay, but no telephones ~ no computers ~ just sit around and watch TV all day.

I can think of dozens of other ways to pull the plug on the Democrats.

I think that the Republicans are in a state of shock. They are at a loss to explain what is happening. First of all, they were completely demoralized by the defeats of 2006 and 2008. Now, they’re stunned to see the Democrats pushing this plan. To many, it’s as if the Democrats are giving Republicans a big victory next year on a silver platter. This, IMHO, has left the Republicans on Capitol Hill disoriented and at a loss of what to do. There is the advice of “never interfere with an opponent who is committing suicide.” Problem is, they are taking the country with them.

And if they had they would have been re-elected to office.

The worst mistake in Ronald Reagan’s life was his VP pick.

It went to hell with a kinder, gentler America and compassionate conservatism. BS!

With a handfull of exceptions, I don’t consider elected Republicans to be on “our” side. They are on their own side. And it’s a pretty d*mn safe bet that elected Republicans maintaining the features of their animal mascot, the amoeba: spineless, colorless, brainless and sexless.
