Reid, McConnell Reach Deal to Adjourn Early
Roll Call ^ | December 23, 2009 | By John Stanton

Posted on 12/22/2009 11:58:40 AM PST by MaestroLC

Senate Republicans have agreed to end their filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) health care reform bill a few hours early on Christmas Eve, a move that will allow the GOP to technically stick to its promise to force Dec. 24 vote on the measure while still making it possible for Senators to return home for the holiday.

“OK. But how should we effectively move forward? I say take the precincts, caucuses and primaries by storm...like they’ve been doing in Nevada -”

Good start. Education on the constitution and our own history would help. And that has to come from us, from the grass roots to our neighbors. Most Americans haven’t a clue what it says or means, much less what their ‘favorite’ candidates say or vote for. Political parties are special interest groups formed to promote special interests.

“If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all.” Thomas Jefferson

And then there is Thomas Paine:
“It is the nature and intention of a constitution to prevent governing by party, by establishing a common principle that shall limit and control the power and impulse of party, and that says to all parties, thus far shalt thou go and no further. But in the absence of a constitution, men look entirely to party; and instead of principle governing party, party governs principle.”

I said it many times before.

The gutless, spineless capons who held leadership positions in the GOP under the George Bush Administration and presided over the loss of the Senate and House should have been purged from the party.

Steel, McCain, McConnell and Boehner MUST GO. The SOONER the BETTER.

"This is a war for the very soul of America, and a tipping point ahs been reached. NO leeway can be given on any issue, point or procedure. If the Repubs, and many citizens don't understand that point, and take up the cause, all is lost. This is the last time in history that the tide can be turned. Don't fool yourself, as soon as obama puts pen to paper making this the law of the land, it will NEVER go away; short of a full blown civil war, and will only get bigger and more intrusive."

.... This couldn't have been said better....

Ya see people, it doesn't matter if they are Republicans or DemocRATS, they still do what THEY want, not what the people want.

Every damn one of them are traitors!

If the Democrats were so desparate to get home for Christmas they should have just adjourned and restarted the debate in January

Can't. Going to be too busy on immigration reform then.

God! Where are we going to find a Republican in a leadership position that has a set of balls. Does anyone wonder how we got here? We all know who are and what the Democrats are, and yet the Republicans just keep on negotiating and compromising. Can’t we all just get along?

We have lost our respect and the authority of the Constitution and Constitutional law, as well as our own history. Yes, we need to revive that as the very foundation for anything else.

Fortunately, the Tea Parties themselves, even Glenn Beck et al, have been focusing on, doing trainings on, distributing the US Constitution and books there on.

*That* is a MASSIVE task ahead of us.

In the meantime, I advocate for TEApublicans.

Way to MAN-UP Mitchie! As my senator I’ve sent countless emails to your office and naturally I’ve received all of the standard, pat replies. So let me just tell you on FR, you are weaselly, limp-wristed, spineless piss-ant. The next request you send in mt direction for a f***ing donation, I guarantee I’ll return with two gallons of urine and vomit. Have a nice day you useless little, traitorous fag.

AP Story from just four days ago...

GOP signals more delays ahead for health bill (AP) – 4 days ago

WASHINGTON — Republican senators say they're ready to do everything in their power to delay action on the Democrats' health overhaul bill — including requiring lengthy amendments to be read aloud on the floor.

What a difference fours days makes. It sounds like they're coming up 12 hours short of "everything in their power."

“This isn’t for final passage.”

So what! They should be fighting this every step along the way.

God Damit! I am so pissed of right now that I am going to go up to the first democrat that I see and kick the living sh*t out of him. (or her, if he is too big) ((figuratively speaking, of course)).

And the GOP leadership wonders why those of us on the Right won’t support such a bunch of self-centered buffoons.

The ountry’s going down in flames, Dingy Harry, the Wicked Witch ofthe West, and Il Douche are in the midst of ramming a health bill that few want, and the country can’t afford, down our throats; and McConnel deals with the REAL IMPORTANT issue, getting our parasite political class home for Christmas [or is it the Solstice Break yet?]. Way to go, Mitch!

Bring the troops home for “holiday” that these parasites consider themselves so richly entitled to, ha. They don’t even consider themselves to be liable to be subject to the same healthscam they’re inflicting upon us. Jesus Come Quickly and get Your children out of here, leave the world to what it is wreaking.

You are missing the point. This is such a bad piece of legislation that it needs to be as painful as possible for the libs to have it passed.
++++++++++++++++++

Right. This is like when you start losing the momentum in tug o’ war - man, we’ve got to DIG in now, and there’s no more, oh, this isn’t the final vote...no, but that final vote is coming at recklessly fast speed.
