Police said a registered gun carrier used his weapon on two men carrying out a home invasion at his residence on Sunday.
One of the home invaders is listed in serious condition at Erlanger Hospital following the incident at 6207 Stockton Dr.
According to the homeowner, Marcus Grier, he stopped by his home briefly to use the bathroom. He said he had his gun with him at the time of the home invasion.
While at home, he said he heard someone enter his residence. He was met by two armed men who told him to give them his money.
Mr. Grier told police that he began firing at the pair and shot at least one of the suspects.
A short time later, one of the men, Leon McKinney, showed up at Erlanger suffering from several gunshots wounds to his chest and legs.

Thread Bump.
They had a plan, he had a better one.
Ditto that.
When seconds matter don’t spend them trying to look or remember where you put your gun.
Love to start the day with good news.
He needs a bigger gun!
Am I missing a point here?
What does having a concealed weapons permit have to do with shooting someone who is trying to break in to your house?
“The second worst thing in the world is killing a person....The absolute worst thing is having to and not having the means to do it.”
Is that the term they use in Tenn, “Registered Gun Carrier”? I would like to know why that is even relevant since he shot the perps in his own home. Doesn’t Tenn allow people to own firearms in their own homes without registration?
one less registered Democrat......
I disagree. The absolute worst is being killed yourself.
Or where the key is, or where the ammo is, etc.
All of my guns are loaded and ready & I don't own a gun lock.
The newspaper reporters’ writing skills left me a little confused.
He wrote.. “Registered Gun Carrier Shoots Home Invader”..
I have a few gun carriers (holsters), and although none of them are registered, I can honestly say none of them have ever shot a home invader. :)
Here in Tennessee, our permits carry the name “handgun carry permit”, so in the interest of clarity, the reporter should probably have stated “Registered handgun carry permit holder shoots home invader”.
Actually though, I would have preferred the headline “Homeowner avails himself of 2nd amendment, puts several rounds into home invader”. But that’s just me!
Homeowner obviously does not need range time, he needs a real gun!
The fact that the perp could take 'several' gunshots and still manage to check himself in for medical care says the guy had a glorified pellet gun.
I do; it came with my Para P-14, and it's safely stowed away in the original box!
No! There is no such concept in TN. Only a carry permit (not even a concealed carry permit). A liberal media type made up that term.
