The chairman of Nebraska's Republican Party predicts that Sen. Ben Nelson's decision to back sweeping health care legislation will be his downfall.
"I think this is the end of his political career in the state of Nebraska, says Mark Fahleson. On Saturday, the state party launched a Web site, givebentheboot.com, to collect funds to oust the Democrat in the 2010 election.
Nelson said earlier Saturday that he decided to support the measure after winning concessions to limit the availability of abortions in insurance sold in newly created exchanges, as well as tens of million in federal Medicaid funds for Nebraska.
Fahleson says Americans are outraged by the legislation and "they're going to punish politicians at the polls."

I hope this bastard will never have a good night’s sleep for the rest of his life. I hope this vote will haunt him until his dying day because he knows full well that HE helped his evil American haters in congress destroy the best healthcare system in the world.
Burn in Hell Ben Nelson.
BTTT
The stench of corrupt democrats (trading votes for whatever they can get) is permeating our nation. It’s like rotting carrion. Next will be Cap and Trade and then they’ll give away our sovereignty. If ever these traitors to our democracy needed a strong message from Americans to cease and desist - it is soon, before we have nothing left for our children and grandchildren. Sitting on our rears while others protest is getting us nowhere. They are taking aggresively what we are giving up without a very loud whimper.
Start organizing Citizen Nullification Committees. It should be easy in Nebraska -- it's one of the most conservative states in the country. Get a group started that will be the spearhead of the noncompliance movement when this piece of trash passes. I know of a lot of rock-rib conservatives in Omaha that are just itching to defy the Obamunists. Nebraska could be to the New Revolution what Boston was to the first.
As the Scots say: “A Boot ye!”
Nelson isn't up in 2010 - his next election is in 2012.
I think of Sen. Mark Hatfield voting against the Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution;he was the decisive vote.
Our debt would likely be less than 8 Trillion instead of 12.
Nelson was bought.imo
Aren’t they called whores?

Between now and next November, so much bad news will come out about the health care scam that is passing Congress now that even those not running in ‘10 will begin to announce they won’t run again. This vote “for” Marxist health care will be a political death knell when the true costs are made public.
I’m from Nebraska and I’ve had it. This is the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. I have until this point been fairly quiet-just trying to do my best to keep informed. I am an extremely busy individual that has been busting my butt to try and make a living. Now I’m going to get involved. Ben Nelson will be sorry he ever crossed this hard working Nebraskan.
KILL the BILL...how stupid do you take us for? We know exactly what will happen....and your children and grandchildren will find out too....they'll be spitting on your grave someday if you vote to pass this atrocity. We have the BEST healthcare in the world....that's gotten worse with the increasing gov't regulation....get the GOVERNMENT OUT OF HEALTHCARE! Kill the Bill.
So we can add another Dem to the list of endangered Dems.
Just words until you prove it.
GROW SOME BALLS and DO IT!
BOOT HIS SORRY ASS OUT!
Earlier postings speculated Nelson will retire. I don’t know if that’s true.
Regardless, he’s been reelected before if I’m not mistaken. So what’s been the attraction to him over the years?
Or is it just that there’s enough idiot donks in Lincoln and Omaha to make sure he stays in office?
May Ben Nelson come down with a case of swine flu immediately.
Keep calling Nelsons office and beg others to do the same. Raise Hell. He could still reverse, and there will be another cloture vote in January following the conference report.
My guess is that Nelson is already regretting his decision. If he votes for cloture and then against the bill on final passage, he will look even more craven.
Judas Ben-Nelson (D-Iscariot).
