Non-stop Rosary vigil to defeat ObamaCare
Posted on 12/19/2009 5:17:02 PM PST by giotto
The 60 votes are there for ObamaCare to pass in the Senate. The only thing preventing a vote is a blizzard in Connecticut, where Joe Lieberman went home for Sabbath. So you might say that God is the reason, both for sending Joe home and for sending the snow storm.
I'm beginning to think that it will take a miracle to stop this massive take-over of the health care industry. So I propose an ongoing Rosary vigil. How it works is that I begin by saying a Rosary. When I finish, I reply to this thread. Hopefully, someone else will then take up the vigil and pray. If you decide to join us in prayer, please reply to this thread. It doesn't have to be a whole Rosary. It can be one decade, or even just a Hail Mary. Comments are welcome.

Remember Protestants (of which I was one for 33 years), the Rosary is not *just* for Catholics. Pope John Paul II gives a nice explanation of that on
The Rosary Online.

It will work. Remember, it’s not enough for God to be on our side. WE must be on his side also.

Our Heavenly Father, we pray tonight that you will guide our leaders in Washington and that, as always, thy will be done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You are welcome giotto. Your idea is so splendid! I have been praying for the intercession from Our Lady through the Rosary for a quarter of a century, and have never regretted the time spent on even one Hail Mary. Mary was the only person (that wasn't God!) to walk the face of this earth sinless. For that reason alone, she makes the very best of friends to talk to via her Most Holy Rosary. Pray once, pray a thousand times. And then come back and
pray some more.:)

If by “we”, you mean america...then it’s a lost cause. Save your breath and your time. America is a lost cause. save yourself and let america be damned.

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate all of you who are taking the time for this, especially in this busy holiday season.

the Rosary is not *just* for Catholics.... Here is one non-Catholic who will pray the Rosary and ask the Lord to intervene for the defeat of this Health Care Bill.

Giotto, may I also add the Sacrament of Reconciliation for Catholics. I saw the most wondrous site today in Kenosha, Wisconsin at St. James Parish. My husband, my daughter and I stopped by in between her water polo games at a tournament at Carthage College, and there were at the very least 200 people going to confession. There were ten priests scattered throughout the church and none of them were in confessionals. They were all face-to-face and didn’t even have screens. There were young children there, young parents, middle aged folks and the elderly, all there to dump their sins and darkness. What an uplifting site!

thank you—
I am not a prayer warrior—but I try—and this has inspired me. If we don’t believe in the power of prayer against evil we might as well pack it in.

I'm in. Starting now. Wish I had seen this earlier.
Mother Mary, pray for us.

It's really true. Our Father, Mary, the angels and saints, not to mention all the aborted children in heaven are waiting and are all ears listening to hear our prayers for help.

My last resort should have been my first resort.
I will be hitting the deck and starting my Rosary.
Thanks for your inspiration!

Thank you. I was wondering about that. My ancestors were Protestants from France but I follow no particular religion. I just never got into going to church
because my parents didn’t go. I know I missed out on a lot.
I love that site. I will check it out every chance I get and will try to
do my part.
