Sarah Palin announced Thursday night that she ended a Hawaii vacation early because of the ruckus raised after she blacked out "McCain" on her sun visor in an effort to elude paparazzi.
~~snip~~
"Todd and I have since cut our vacation short because the incognito attempts didn't work and fellow vacationers were bothered for the two days we spent in the sun. So much for trying to go incognito."

Sarah you are a breath of fresh air; but you are whining. What does she expect?

Oh, stop being ridiculous.
I've been an avid Palin supporter since BEFORE she was selected for VP.
But I am very irritated that she not only would behave like this, but then express surprise at the consequences.
To: CedarDave
She’s learning from her mistakes.
She needs a good solid savvy conservative advisor. Maybe she should hire Ann Coulter.

She blocked out McCain's name in an attempt for privacy.I'm thinking Piper did that:
Sarah: "I really need a new visor; this one's from last year's campaign."
Piper: "Mom, no you don't; we can just cross out the name."
Sarah: "Well, maybe..."
Piper: "I've got a black marker [from the book tour]; let me do it.
Sarah: "O.k."

Yeah, I am very surprised that she believed that she and her family could be incognito on a public beach. I don’t think a costume exists which would disguise her, LOL
To: hennie pennie
Right, hennie pennie. Sarah has poor advisers. I think many of us here at FR could be better counselors to her than she has now.

She is beginning to show a tendency that is troubling"Todd and I have since cut our vacation short because the incognito attempts didn't work and fellow vacationers were bothered for the two days we spent in the sun."
Yes, this concern for others is troubling.
BOOM...

I see Sarah Palin as a "people person", that's one of the things about her that makes her so popular with...well, the people.
Based on that, I can see why she would like to take a vacation like a normal person, and be around and mingle with other vacationers. Nothing wrong with that, and the other vacationers probably didn't mind, EXCEPT for the obnoxious media...I won't call them paparazzi because I think those two terms have become synonymous with the moral and professional decline the lamestream media.
I would imagine the last year - with Sarah's meteoric rise in popularity, that the learning process in dealing with "fame" is ongoing and stressful. She is becoming more accustomed to the lights and cameras, but she still has to cope with lack of privacy for herself, AND her family.
Maybe she will find a private island getaway so her and her family can be safe and unfettered by the abhorrent and unrelenting media.
As far as that "visor" with McCain't "X'd" out...big deal. I see his name X'd out all over the place, and millions more than that have X'd him out mentally anyway...he's a RINO loser and an opportunist.
Note to Sarah: Auction the damn visor off on eBay for thousands, and give it to McCain't favorite charity...let'm bitch about that!

I’m surprised, too. But remember in Alaska she was all over the place in public with no problem. I remember an interview from Juneau (before VP selection) where she walked from the Governor’s mansion to her office just as most of us would walk from home to our nearby office. She had one security guard and passerby’s greeted he politely. Those days are gone but it must be hard to let them go. As I said above, she’s learning.

YES. Governor Sarah Palin did something both
silly and utterly preposterous.
And I don't care if you disagree with me, don-O ---- I have supported Governor Palin since long before Trig was born, and long before McCain picked up for VP.
Incidentally, your comment to me was utterly worthless.

I’m getting a little disappointed with her in this area.
Sometimes she does not display plain old common sense.
I’m sure there is a billionaire like Bebe Repozo among her supporters who can offer her lovely anonymous vacations.
OTOH, she just can’t stay out of the spotlight, can she? Do I detect EOS??? Early Obama Syndrome?

Since Palin is now a media/political celebrity, she lost her entitlement to privacy. If she wants privact, she will have to fight for it and outsmart the Paparazzis everytime.

Celebrities routinely deal with this situation, she will too, unless she stays home or behind a veil of security.... even that is often not enough.

I get so irritated by these silly incidents which do NOT need to occur, which should NOT have occurred. And I sometimes seriously wonder if she still is taking "advice" from whomever was advising her during that dreadful 2008 campaign -- because so many people obviously attempted to sabotage & destroy her -- is she still listening to someone from then?
Can't she get a whole new PR person and some really competent advisor who has scads of experience with the Newly Famous????

Yep. There are more private places out there, a blacked-out McCain visor isn’t really a great disguise, and agreed—no more whining. She’s our next President and I don’t want her sharing every personal complaint with the press.

Maybe she will find a private island getaway so her and her family can be safe and unfettered by the abhorrent and unrelenting media.I know just the one. Its even in Alaska although its now quite a private island, but there would be no media there. Shemya.
