After reveiwing her work I pointed out several omissions, such as the slaves being traded for guns and spices by their own leaders. She told me that it could not be included *because her teacher did not teach them that.*

Don’t let that teacher get away with this.

First rule out that your daughter isn’t taking the easy way out by giving you that reason. I would ask for a conference with the teacher and tell her a thing or too, if that in fact is how she is teaching.

We MUST start confronting this when it affects us, especially our children.

I’m so glad my kids are long out of school, otherwise, I’d be at the school all day everyday....head exploding, blood shooting from eyes.............ungh.........

I agree with you BUT, this will put her in a difficult place. Liberalism is top at administrators down to the faculty. I did this three years ago and the rest of her year was living H E double toothpicks.

I work in the support staff (not at her school) and KNOW the games that they play.

I didn't say the "c" word. Revolt is an entirely different thing.

And it will hopefully come about in 2010.

I know what it’s like to be considered “trouble maker” by school administrators and staff. Ha - been there, done it. I feel for you and your daughter. I guess the best we can do is make sure we fill in where modern teaching fails our children. Teach them to be inquisitive and have critical thinking skills. “Question authority” LOL
