Olbermann’s Conniption: 'There is No Liberal Media'

Perhaps there is something obstructing the view overlooking Rockefeller Plaza, where MSNBC broadcasts "Countdown" nightly because the show's host, Keith Olbermann fails to see the existence of a news media with a liberal bias.

On MSNBC's Dec. 14 broadcast of "Countdown," Olbermann came to the defense of NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" executive producer and noted left-winger Dick Wolf. The Dec. 9 episode of Wolf's program featured a killer who targeted the children of illegal immigrants and in that episode, one of the characters, played by John Larroquette, blamed conservatives "like Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck" for inciting violence against immigrants. That prompted O'Reilly on Dec. 10, the next broadcast of the Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," to fire back at Wolf.

And that led Olbermann to respond to O'Reilly, five days later, which deteriorated into Olbermann making the seemingly laughable assertion there is no such thing as the liberal media. Olbermann began his tirade by attacking Andrew Breitbart, who is launching a Web site called "Big Journalism," which will take on "the Democratic-media complex."

He must be in denial - of course there is a left wing bias in the media. Its not as blatant (and certainly not as organised) as many conservatives think, but it is definitely there.

Which proves it's only about the ratings, not the truth.

By the way, he ranted about the fact that media is now owned by corporations which are generally conservative. Unless, of course, the company that owns you is in bed with the president. This guy is insane. So there is no liberal media, because the media are all right wingers working for right wing corporations.

It makes one wonder, just what is going on in his little head? For him to think MSNBC is a right wing operation means he's sooooo far out there to the left that no normal person could comprehend what he really believes.

Are you kidding me?!!? It has never been so blatant!! Ever since Bambi started his Presidential run, the media bias has been absolutely over the top. they don't even pretend to be even-handed any more.

It is easy to prove the bias.

If you can take almost any topic and predict how the mainstream media will report it (or in some cases fail to report) you can determine their bias.

Homosexuals - for, against, neutral
Taxes - for, aganist, neutral
Religion - for, against, neutral
Illegal immigration - for, against, neutral
Sarah Palin - for, against, neutral
Unions - for, against, neutral
abortion - for, against, neutral

The list can go on, but the point is, they should be neutral on all of these stories but they do choose sides.

I know before hand how my local paper will handle a story on any of these topics, which is why I quit reading it.

There is a bias, and it leans to the left. Like someone else posted, a fish does not know it is wet. These guys are so surrounded by others that think just like them, they think they are the middle.

I am so sick and tired of this false premise put forth by the left. Media liberal bias is so demonstrably true with example after example after example, that who owns the parent company is irrelevant. All one has to do is watch the shows.
