Climategate: Settle down Sarah Palin. This changes nothing (Juvenile Joisey Jourbalism)
The Star-Ledger ^ | December 13, 2009 | The Editorial Board

Posted on 12/13/2009 5:28:16 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Give this much to Sarah Palin: She is so dependably wrong that she makes it easy to pick sides.

After exposing President Obama’s plans to kill the elderly and disabled with his death panels, she has moved on to climate change, seizing on the recent scandal over stolen e-mails as evidence that global warming is a liberal myth.

Let’s look at the record. A few weeks ago, a computer hacker stole documents and e-mails from a server at Britain’s Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia. Some of the e-mails were between scientists at the center and a leading climatologist at Penn State, Michael E. Mann.

It turns out, assuming the documents are authentic, that these elite climate scientists were spinning their research. They hid data they didn’t like. They discussed boycotting publications that questioned their conclusions. They talked about using a "trick" to massage data.

They behaved, in short, like a bunch of hacks. And that has given climate-change skeptics their biggest propaganda win in years. It has allowed people like Palin to score points.

But it is beyond silly to suggest, as Palin does, that Obama should boycott the climate summit in Copenhagen in response to this kerfuffle. The science behind global warming does not depend on these climatologists alone. An overwhelming majority of climate scientists across the world believe that human activity is warming the planet, and that this presents a dire threat to Earth’s environment.(continued)

Interesting. The blog is on "NJ Voices: Opinions from New Jersey" The comments are just about 100% against the author and quite supportive of Sarah.

The Star Ledger has been a lefty sanitary rag for sometime, but, FYI, NOBODY in New Jersey says “Joisey.”

CO2 makes up .36% of the atmosphere.
Human activity contributes to just 3% of THAT miniscule amount.

There is no way to prove that removing the ENTIRE human CO2 contribution would have ANY effect on the climate.

3% of .36% is less than statistical noise...

Was that Chris Matthews seen entering a pet store recently? Perhaps some last minute shopping for gifts for his colleagues?

Fraud, conspiracy to commit MASSIVE theft, conspiracy to enslave 99% of the world’s (remaining) population, conspiracy to commit worldwide genocide (population control).

There needs to be some “lamp post adornments” over this.

You have to love how the comments in the paper relentlessly mock and ridicule the piece. It's a pattern you see over and over wherever news sites allow comments.

The media mule drones on for a few paragraphs, writing practically word for word something like: "All these stolen emails prove is that these few individuals behaved badly. But it does nothing to change the fact that the consensus is overwhelming".

Then readers with brains draw and quarter them. The warmies have to be beside themselves with grief when they see how infective their propaganda has become.

Seriously, my dear editors, here is the problem: The East Anglia guys and others, with your help and the help of others in the media, have been trumpeting that the science on global warming is, by an overwhelming consensus, settled. It appears that at least some of the science undergirding the overwhelming consensus on global warming was not only not settled, it wasn’t actual science. Separately, the press, including you, I wager, have printed and broadcast an incredible amount of information about Governor Palin as fact that was, or should have been, observably false to anybody with functioning senses and a moderate grasp of logic. So...whose word am I supposed to take that the rest of the global warming science isn’t also rigged?

The scientists? You’re high.

You? You’re really high. Send me some of what you’re on.

“Did this “editorial” mention the fact that Algore thinks the temperature of the inner earth is “millions of degrees”?”

If one ever doubts the power of the media, one only need to reflect that millions and millions of Americans are completely ignorant of the fact that Algore is a moron.

Literally.

Low IQ. Total lack of wisdom. Bad instincts. Cruddy upbringing. The father who set an example for him was a crook. The peers who applied pressure on him during his formative years were Evil. I am hard put to discern a single redeeming virtue.

And if one confines himself to the constant lying of the lamestream media, one will be completely unaware of any of those facts.

It should read

An overwhelming majority of political hacks across the world have manipulated the data to convince people that human activity is warming the planet, and that this presents a dire threat to Earth’s environment so that they can push their global one world government socialist agenda.

“Did this “editorial” mention the fact that Algore thinks the temperature of the inner earth is “millions of degrees”?”

I have read that few of the “scientists” who have signed on to this crap are actually “climate scientists,” and that few actual climate scientists subscribe to this nonsense.

“However, as the work of McIntyre, McKitrick, Wegman, Carter and others has spread, scientific “consensus” in recent years has begun collapsing. A detailed review of 539 technical papers about climate change published between 2004 and 2007 found no evidence none —supporting specific “catastrophic” climate change due to man. In March 2009, a petition signed by over 31,000 scientists stated in part: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.””

These writers either don’t know, or hope their readers don’t know, that the CRU is the main clearinghouse on Climate for the UN. Someone aptly called it “the Pentagon of Global Warming.” If the CRU guys are lying hacks, it says as much about AGW as it would say about the Iraq War if all the generals in the Pentagon were caught emailing each other about ways to fake data so we could keep our troops there.

>>Don’t question Algore! He took a science class in college.

Reminds me of the line from Ghostbusters when Prof. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) says, sardonically, “Back off, man... I’m a scientist.”

You mean he “barely passed” a science class in college, right? (He got a D, IIRC))

"With all these morons in the LAME STREAM Media drinking the Odumbo/Global Warming Kool Aid..."

It's not just the obvious media suspects, either. The folks at Google are a Kool Aid Gang, too. Today 12/14 they have a link on their main search page that says, "New! Explore impact of climate change on Google Earth."

The link, you might think, would take you to maps or satellite images that show the shrinking/non-shrinking Arctic ice. But, alas, nothing quite so instructive.

Instead you get a bunch of AGW posts, led by the Chief himself, none other than that famous and respected scientist Al Gore, Jr. Why, they made it so easy that you don't even have to lift a finger to click on it to hear his pronouncements. It automatically starts in with his mellifluous tones starting off with the bold statement "Human activities like deforestation and burning of fossil fuels... are changing our climate."

So is hot air and stupidity.

Gee, and it used to be you could do a web search without getting sick to your stomach. My, how times have changed.

But good luck complaining to Google. They don't have any forum for comments from the masses.

This is worse than the mainstream media, and it reaches more people with their propaganda.

Yes, Algore earned an impressive D in his only science class.
