Why the elite wants Christianity out of politics - ALAN KEYES
Loyal to Liberty ^ | December 13, 2009 | Alan Keyes

Posted on 12/13/2009 8:38:47 AM PST by EternalVigilance

As I wrote my most recent article for WND.com (the subject of my previous posting) I found myself thinking about Christianity's unique effect on our understanding of the justice (and injustice) of human action. The last point made in the article is about the connection between arrogant elitism and the self-inflation the Pharisee derives from comparing himself with other people. In light of this connection we can better understand why the elitist forces that strenuously promote the specious doctrine of the separation of church and state are so often guilty of favoritism. They invoke the doctrine to repress Christian institutions and practices, while treating those of other religions as protected artifacts of "cultural diversity." I think this discrimination has to do with the fact that the words and example of Christ convey an understanding of human authority that supports the sovereignty of the people even as it undermines the assertion of elite predominance (the sovereignty of the wealthy, more intelligent, more talented few.)

However we may characterize it ideologically, the ultimate effect of the present push to overturn the principal of consent as the lawful basis for government is to reestablish the rule of the few, whose assumption of power derives from their Pharisaical claim to be superior to the rest. On the convenient excuse of whatever problem or crisis happens to be handy (the jobs crisis, the health crisis, the environmental crisis, the crises of poverty, hunger, homelessness etc.) they assert the urgent need for approaches that concentrate control of more and more resources and decision-making in the hands of professional and bureaucratic elites. Against the preponderance of evidence and logical reasoning, they pretend that centralized government institutions will deal with the critical challenges we face more effectively than those that respect individual liberty.

The problem with no christianity in politics...is that it takes basic morality with it....abortion, homosexuality are two excellent examples.

Why the elite wants Christianity out of politics

Well..., it's not only the so-called "elite" (as in this article) but it's also a number of posters on Free Republic, too -- saying that the conservatives can't win because of the "Christians"... LOL... (no..., they've said it to me... really... :-) ...).

The Left depends upon its ability to manipulate people’s natural sense of guilt.

It doesn’t work on people with a clear moral sense, and it especially doesn’t work with people whose consciences are informed and redeemed by God.

They need people who have no clear sense of right and wrong because you can use it. Whatever they’re doing, you make them feel guilty and then you offer them a way out, which usually involves giving your freedom to them.

I think my new tagline, which I had put up this morning before this new article by Alan Keyes appeared, matches the subject matter pretty well.

Did Stalin exclude his belief system from informing his political decisions. Does ANY leftist EVER fail to hew to his “religion” in his decision making?

The idea that the system which informs any given persons morality is somehow intrinsically ineligible to leadership is one of the many lying, self serving, disingenuous, hypocritical canards the left throws out to shut down opposition.

Great tag line.

I went to Dillard’s yesterday to buy a gift card for my wife. They didn’t have a card that said “Merry Christmas”. I mentioned it to the clerk and she said they aren’t even allowed to say the words. Another clerk said “I’ll say it” then she said “Merry Christmas”. Good for her! She’s not afraid to lose her job knowing that’s better than losing her soul.

My decision next year is to not buy anything from any store that has this policy and I wish the entire country would do the same. This would be a great opportunity to teach kids the real meaning of Christmas. I’m told that if I deny Him in public he’ll deny me before the Father.

If my Christain beliefs are offensive then I can only assume my money is, too.

I am so sick of political correctness religion. To speak against the totalitarians and their brainwashing requires great courage these days.

I put something in a Salvation Army kettle the other day and the attendant and I wished each other a Merry Christmas. No ignorance of the reason for the season at the S. Army.

The people inside and outside of this country who are here to promote Islam as a legitimate player in American political life, have brilliantly tapped into the existing currents of PC, and have been exploiting it for their own
purposes for YEARS. They feign innocence just like every other homegrown interest group does when it claims it’s only looking for what is due to it as protection against unfair persecution: these two groups actually HELP each other-—you’ll find a kind of sloppy intimacy exists between them——the native PC crowd will get a rude awakening, though, when, somewhere down the line, they will ALSO be expected to convert to their new Islamic overlords.
But I have every expectation that most of them will in effect convert, because in many ways they already have submitted to something they are too stupid to see is contrary to EVERY principle of our Constitution.
As good as example of this might be Chris Matthews, who is certainly “educated” and should know better, but seems to dig himself deeper every day into a fetid hole of accommodation, kissing the asses of people like CAIR’s “Ibrahim” (actually Doug)Hooper every chance he gets,
commiserating with him over the unfair “backlash” they think is coming over the Major Hasan affair.
In this sense, conversion means letting “democracy” play itself out, with Islam and Islamic influence establishing beachheads in every corner of American Life. They are in the process of carefully laying down the foundations for this NOW.

Well, Alan, I am not as smart as you, but here goes. Matthew 17 Jesus tells his guys that "if they had the faith of a grain of mustard they could make 'that mountain go away into the sea'". The mountain he was referring to was a mountain that one can see from where Jesus sat that day on the Mount of Olives. It seems that some years before Herod wanted to have a palace that could be seen from all Jerusalem and the only place where that would be possible was some 400 feet or so in the air to the East of Jesrusalem so Herod built a mountain there.

So you see, when Jesus said that if we were to have even the smallest amount of faith we could make a mountain go away he was referring to the authroity of oppressive government. The reference is pretty clear when you think about it, "for those with ears to hear."

So this is why the libtards hate the church. They understand that if we ever quit "playing church" and actually began to trust Him and follow Him their plans to rule us would be over. We could make them "fly away to the sea".

Not just the "elites"....

Ninety PCT (IMHO)of the members/workers/supporters of unions, government schools, GLSEN, Anglican Episcopal church, NAMBLA, journalism industry, democrats, and the TV & movie industry also work towards the same Marxist goal.

For those in the other 10% who claim they don't, they disprove that statement by remaining in the enemy camp...

What these idiots are too stupid to see is that Islam has no use for a thing like the constitution. Chrissy will be bowing before his leaders or he will be beheaded. Come to think of it, maybe we should let them get to this point before we kill ‘em all. Nah, wouldn’t be prudent.
