Given the conventional wisdom that elitist derision towards her only makes her supporters support her more adamantly, youd think savvy Beltway consultants who dont like her would keep that fact to themselves. And yet. Heres their answer to the question, Which voice in your party would you most like to mute?
Thats among political insiders, i.e. consultants. Among senators and congressmen polled, she finished second behind no one, tied with Michele Bachmann and Glenn Beck, among others. These insiders are the same people, mind you, who earlier this year voted her seventh among Republican governors with the brightest political future (Mark Sanford was fifth). No wonder she enjoys jabbing them with threats about going third-party.

I’m going with Sarah only!
This will be a monogamous political relationship between her and I.
My vote will not and cannot be bought by pretty words and lies.
Sarah is my choice.
Exactly. Insiders can KMA.
It is not just the 1/2 brain cell GOP politicians,
IT IS THE CAREER STAFFERS WHO ARE IN FEAR, those left minded political head pointers who know they will not have jobs if the country club clique is broken.
Remember Arlen Specter changed parties and his left wing staffers did not have to be swapped out.
We should examine the congressman’s staffers MORE than the politician.
The “GOP insiders” are nothing more than Nowhere Men, making all their nowhere plans, for nobody:

Well yeah, it's fear--fear of strong primary challenges, fear of losing their sweet sinecure jobs, fear of becoming truly irrelevant and unemployed when real Americans take the party and nation by storm.
These “insiders” are why the GOP keeps losing.
This is Ironic. Here are two threads currently making the rounds.

Poll of GOP insiders: Its time for Palin to go away

Republic of Texas to Free ThinkerNY
If I read this correctly, a total of 85 GOP "consultants" and "insiders" were polled.
Of those 85, 44 (52%) wanted to shut up a conservative voice:
Palin 24
Limbaugh 5
Tancredo 5
Cheney 3
Far Right 3
Bachmann 2
Beck 2
Total 44
However, only 19 (22%) wanted to muffle a liberal voice:
Steele 10 (only gets in trouble when he isn't really conservative)
Gingrich 3(sometimes says liberal things, dumb liberal things)
Graham 3 (stupid on climate change)
Snowe 3 (votes with the left)
Total 19
Seems like the conservative "consultants" and "insiders' are about twice as tolerant of opposing views. And the party could do without about half its "consultants" and "insiders".
Truly, one of the party's biggest problems are those "consultants" and "insiders" who don't believe in what the party purportedly stands for.
This is 1964 all over again, when the Rockefeller republicans sabotaged Goldwater and did more to defeat him than LB Johnson did.
It is 1980 all over again when the Rockefeller republicans ran John Anderson as a turd party candidate in a vain effort to elect Jimmuh Cahtuh to a second term over Ronald Reagan.
The GOP is every bit the corrupt pack of countryclub drunks and skanks and bums that the 'rat propaganda has had them for a generation--we have just lived with them because we had to, more or less.
Only now, they are faced with an existential crisis, as they say, and are showing their true colors to an older, more discerning, and less accommodating base.
That is my favorite Sarah pic by far. :0)
You put Bachmann and Beck in there who are reasonable but might be a little strong for some tastes you get 46 percent.
And this is why they push people like Dede Scozzafava on us, and don't support the Bret Schundlers and Pat Toomeys.
Those insiders?
We should listen to them?
Really?
Those GOP nowhere men (and women) are in cold storage in thinktanks so they are available to the politicans and to be politicians.
It is like that UBER-RINO Carla Fiorina or Christine Todd Whitman (whitless).
They are too stupid to get it.
If they side with the left and go squishy moderate it just earns them a place on the wrong side of the democraat party firing squad. They lose.
If they don side with the majority conservaitve USA with ACTIONS not BS words (ala the flag burning amendment nonsense) then these ESTEEMED COLLEGUES OF THE CONGRESS will lose. (+firing squad to prevent the counter revolution)
In order to win the GOP primaries have to be a RINO purge.
Of course “Republican Insiders” want to shut her up.
They and the democrats are just two divisions of the BIG GOVERNMENT PARTY.
They both prosper by screwing the citizenry, stealing our labor and wealth, and fighting over the spoils.
Sarah is more of an immediate threat to republicans than she is to democrats because she will attract support from conservatives and other voters who have voted for Republicans as the least objectionable of two very bad choices.
Sarah can now offer Conservative voters a reason to vote FOR someone rather than being reduced to voting AGAINST the worst of the two BIG GOVERNMENT candidates.
She needs to run for the Senate as a carpetbagger....maybe NY............................. Nope, no way, she couldn’t pass herself off as a Democrat to get the NYC vote.
