Too crude? Too absurd? Too biased and racist against white people? Not if you are NBC and Law & Order. In the past, the writers of Law & Order and their "sister" shows like SVU have gone out on the PC limb. If you are of the white race and believe in God, then you too can be the target of Law & Order. If you believe in the right to own a firearm or say that you do not believe in homosexuality, Law & Order writers are aiming a bull's eye at you.

there is some truth to this, ...BUT

I stopped watching them years ago because all the “alleged perpetrators” were white. All the crimes were white on white

The writers at L&O would change the story lines so that it was white people doing the crimes, especially the more egregious.

I follow the news, and could usually tell EXACTLY which real-life crime that the story was derived from.

But it was always white folks doing it in the L&O episode.

You need to watch this one.
This is not “ripped from the headlines” other than the evil talk show host who is a Rush caracature, cigar and all. Along with the Tea Party protesters, one being the killer of little kids.

Years ago the old Dragnet series with Jack Webb used to begin by saying "The story you are about to see is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."

In Law and Order the story may be "ripped from the headlines" as you say but in most cases not only are the names changed but also the races, creeds and colors of the original story have been changed too to make them more PC.

I just caught 30 minutes of that show here on the internet.

I wish I could write to NBC and tell them that I will no longer watch their network, but I don’t watch it anyway.

I used to watch it all the time, but gave it up about a year ago. Vincent D'Onofrio had to stop filming a few years ago because he was so upset about Bush and his wars.

However, my son spent a few hours with Mariska Hargitay a few years back and said she was terrific and down to Earth.

The L & O shows have large numbers of excellent actors from the NY theater. They used to have good writing. This season D’Onofrio and Erbe are leaving Criminal Intent, and only Goldblum will be left. Now they have this show and the earlier Cheney the war criminal show. They have jumped so far over shark they can’t come down.
