Approval numbers show most Americans don't want Obama's change
The US Report ^ | 9 December 2009 | Chris Carter

Posted on 12/09/2009 6:10:27 AM PST by Crush

A common theme has resonated from pollsters in 2009: 'Obama's approval ratings hit new low.' Gallup's latest poll puts President Obama's approval at 47%, the lowest-ever for a U.S. president in his first year in office.

Now that President Barack Obama's first year in office is almost over, a glance at other presidents' approval ratings confirms that Obama's 47% approval rating marks the lowest for a president in his first year.

A look at past presidents shows that he could also set the lowest average approval rating. According to Gallup , Obama's first-year average approval is 50%. Only Ronald Reagan and Harry Truman (both at 49%) were listed as having a lower approval rating than Obama. Highest on the list? George W. Bush's average was highest, at 86 percent in 2001.

The White House's reaction? Attack the pollsters.

Instead of re-evaluating their unpopular policies, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs likened the latest results to a “six-year-old with a crayon...I don't pay a lot of attention to the meaninglessness of it.”

What has Obama accomplished or what does he have in store for America that could actually raise his numbers? Only 44% of Americans support Congress' healthcare legislation that is a priority for the administration. Even fewer (40%) approve of Obama's handling in particular of health care policy.

Only 26% of Americans feel that Obama actually deserves the Nobel Prize, which the committee admitted was awarded on intentions, not actions.

Gallup suggests that a slight uptick in Obama's numbers last week accounted for the unveiling of his long-awaited Afghanistan strategy at West Point. But some recent polling data showed that 55% of Americans disapprove of Obama's strategy in Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama, Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid don’t care.

Not only that, but they can’t add either.

OMG.

Barry is a Marxist ideologue. He doesn't care who in his own party gets voted out just so long as his socialist crap sandwich goes through. His overriding goal is hatred for this country as well as hatred for western culture in general. Compare how he's treated radical muslim regimes and how he's snubbed the British, our staunchest allies.

He knows he has a short window to pass this, but once its passed it won't go away until our country is bankrupt. The thing that surprises me is that these moderate dems must know that even if this garbage goes through, they're still getting voted out. Why are they sacrificing themselves to keep Barry propped up?

It does appear more and more that Barry, Harry and Nancy are on a Kamakaze mission from George Soros...

I created a chart showing that since Eisenhower, Obama has the largest presidential approval ratings freefall. Obama has dropped 21 points in 11 months.

It may not be good for us to have a president who is worse than Jimmy Carter. Carter only dropped 14 points in his first 11 months. Obama is making Carter look good.

Here are the approval numbers on inauguration day, the numbers for December, and the change from inauguration day until December for each of the presidents—

IKE 66 60 -6
KENNEDY 72 78 6
NIXON 60 60 0
CARTER 69 55 -14
REAGAN 53 70 17
BUSH 1 63 70 7
CLINTON 55 55 0
BUSH 2 59 85 26
OBAMA 68 47 -21

Exactly so. The damage will be irreversible.

Yeah its like this, because I have a brain I have seen evidence that firmly convinces me because Obama cannot legally be POTUS and the fact of that prevents any law of his or any change of his from being valid has forced me to not accept him in totality.

How can any person accept his “change” if its not legally binding? Eventually if not soon it will be found that every single act and decision he has made as POTUS can and will be questioned in a court of law.

And quite frankly that sucks, I hate courts and lawyers.

Interesting stats, but i thought Reagan’s approval ratings went down after his inauguration? You have it at +17.

I wish these idiots would have figured this out BEFORE they went into the polling booth.

That is the one reason I still oppose term limits.

Imagine what these uneducated, ill-informed boobs would vote for if they knew making a mistake would be corrected by term limits.

Reagan’s sharp increase was the product of a fairly low initial average of 53% combined with a spike in his approval rating associated with a rally in support after John Hinckley’s attempted assassination of him in late March 1981.

Hey “most Americans”... Nice friggin’ timing!

Most Americans with a brain figured it out last November... even to the extent that we held our nose and pulled the lever for that RINO McCain. Idiots.
