Senate rejects Nelson amendment on abortion
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
Isn’t the UNELECTED Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand also up for election in 2010.
Sen. Nelson: “Ill Filibuster If Bill Doesnt Include Stupak Amendment
If Nelson votes AGAINST the bill, but does not filibuster as he promised, I will only forgive him IF the bill is killed. IF the bill passes, despite a No vote by Nelson, his No vote would only look like Reid allowed him to vote No so he can get reelected.
Yes she is. Thank you, I’ve got to add her to my list.
That all depends on Harry, he can force the “nuclear option” on the entire bill and only need 51. I’m not sure if he can use that option for amendments to his bill. Not that rules mean anything right now, the Dems will just change whatever they need to get what they want.
Look for the American people to revolt. This is going to be very violent in my opinion. Much property damage and shut down of commerce is coming in my opinion. Look for interstate highways to be closed— runways to be blocked and intersections in major cities to be shut down by millions of Americans. We will not tolerate the killing of the elderly by death panels and WE WILL NOT PERMIT BABY KILLING!!!!! It will not be pretty.
Thank YOU!
I think Gillibrand is beatable IF the NYS Republican Party puts up a decent candidate.
They already permit Baby Killing. Just that right now, Welfare doesn’t pay for it.

Without the abortion language, Nelson had threatened he would not back the final healthcare bill when it came to a vote. If he followed through, Democrats would be one vote short of the 60 they need to pass the measure.
But after his amendment failed, Nelson softened his stance slightly. “It makes it harder to be supportive. We’ll see what happens,” he told reporters.
I believe this is the first time I've agreed with Casey's vote. I stood on a street corner in DC in November, and urged him to protect the unborn, but by his response I really didn't have much hope that he would. I'll call his office tomorrow and thank him for this vote (and put in another plea to kill the bill . . . ).
“But after his amendment failed, Nelson softened his stance slightly. It makes it harder to be supportive. Well see what happens, he told reporters.”
That is disturbing. I wonder if some of the other 7 Dems who supported Nelson’s amendment will vote against Harrycare. They need to be contacted by their constituents in huge numbers, as well as the two RINOs, Snowe and Collins.
“I’ll call his office tomorrow and thank him for this vote (and put in another plea to kill the bill . . . ).”
Good idea, and maybe you can also put in a plea for him to filibuster like he said he would.

It was also in the Wash. Post.
I pray not. I spoke with my elderly parents last night. They are 89 and 84, and as sharp as they've ever been. My PhD-educated Dad was struggling to figure out all the changes in their insurance and Mom was also very exasperated. In advance of all the crap coming out of Washington, they're already being informed of changes in their Medicare Advantage and dental insurance plans. Some of their specialists aren't accepting the new arrangements. They don't need this aggravation after all the years they've paid taxes and supported their communities. Ironically, Dad worked in pharmaceutical research, and was instrumental in the development of several life-saving treatments. He's certainly earned the moral right not to have his health care rationed by this cabal in Washington.

That is TERRIBLE. This would make a good call to a talk show or letter to the editor, with your parents’ permission, of course.
Florida needs to send Bill Nelson back to space. Permanently.
The only problem is that Florida will have to go and get him from Nebraska.
OUCH! This BEN Nelson, who is actually a decent guy. I was thinking of Spaceman BILL Nelson from Flori-duh.
Ben’s another Liberal disguised as a “moderate”.
When was the last time a bill that passed both houses and went into conference failed to become law, for a reason other than a veto?
I believe that if it passes the senate, it will have too much momentum to be stopped.
