Did Anyone Else Go To The Christmas Sweater Live Event Tonight?
Glenn Beck | 12/04/2009

Posted on 12/03/2009 9:17:39 PM PST by My Favorite Headache

Went to the Christmas Sweater tonight which was being simulcasted and beamed out to hundreds of theaters across the nation tonight. Glenn showed the live show from last year and introduced us to 4 amazing people's stories live on stage and went in-depth about some of the truth about the book.

It was shown in 2 theaters at our local Cineplex and both rooms were filled to capacity.

If anyone else went chime in because I can honestly say I don't think I will ever view my life the same again. I was emotionally blown away by what I saw tonight and inspired like never before. Beck has the ability to just grab you by the throat and the heart at the same time and make you think like you have never thought before and make you feel like you have never felt before.

Amazing evening and well worth the $20.00 ticket.

I’m hoping he releases it on DVD, I didn’t get to go either.

Most of the theaters will be repeating the performance (recorded) next Thursday:

I didn’t used to care much for Beck’s radio show. Actually, still don’t. But I do find him a very interesting and talented character. His complete lack of any need to defend himself, or pretend he’s anything he’s not, is very interesting. It’s probably what the left hates so much about him.

We wanted to go, but viewed $20 as a bit steep, particularly during the Christmas season, and no bonus in the SoDak household this year. We went last year and enjoyed that one.

Yes! If they are reasonably mature. I took my two twelve year olds and they were mezmerized! Sat quietly the whole time. We had sweet discussions on the way home about redemption and coming back after really hard things.

Great question. There were moments in it that a child simply would not understand at all and you would have to explain to them as it was happening or after. There were kids there, elderly, teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, entire families, black, white, hispanic...everyone of every background was there and I showed up 45 mins early and still had to sit in the 3rd row in front of the screen as the other theater was already packed to capacity and the one I was in had people coming in all the way til it began.

It is VERY VERY moving but there is an excellent lesson for any kid of any age in my opinion. The life stories and videos and panel he has after the performance of the book was so inspiring and touching.

Beck had a live choir and band playing Christmas carols and hymns. Beautiful stuff.

I still don’t get exactly what the ‘live’ show is. Seems like some sort of round table discussion on the book. Can somebody describe briefly what sort of presentation it is? I can’t seem to find much on the internet describing it.

You're a little young to be asking that of a complete stranger. Are you a cop?

It is a one-man dramatic interpretation of the book, with Beck playing all of the parts. It also includes some singers and other performers (so I guess it’s not strictly a one-man show), and a live orchestra with an original score composed for the show.

Glenn takes the stage and introduces the video of last year’s performance of The Christmas Sweater. This takes up most of the time of the show.

Then Glenn (back to live) introduces the four people who embody his point. All have had horrid life experiences and “come through the storm” and found redemption.
