The fight over climate science is about to cross the Atlantic with a U.S. researcher poised to sue NASA, demanding the release of the same kind of information that landed a leading British center in hot water over charges that it skewed its data.
Christopher C. Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data dating as far back as the 1930s.
"I assume that what is there is highly damaging," Mr. Horner said. "These guys are quite clearly bound and determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this."

About time. The only surprising part of the article is that they did not mention that the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) is headed by total radical James Hansen. Hansen has equated coal-fired generating plants to holocaust "death factories."
Do a keyword search on James Hansen or Hansen to see the references.

The results of the lie will probably be similar to the results of the big lie you refer to in The Garden.

People don’t realize how dangerous this is. This crap weakens the scientific community immeasurably. If this is unreliable, what else is unreliable? What is true? What is spin? You can’t build a building based on political correctness.

Hansen, who was involved in the “70’s global cooling scam, is one of NASA’s researchers or contributors, IIRC. The NASA people used his formulae at that time, also.

All these other “scientists” that are supporting Global Warming, have all based their findings on false data put out by the CRU. and in effect, *their* findings can only be considered to be flawed at best. houses builty on sand, of sand, and in the path of a tidal wave of truth.

You have to go to civil court to compel compliance, because these laws don't specify penalties for non-compliance. Bureaucrats just laugh at them.

It's unfortunate the Washington Times doesn't name the director of Nasas Goddard Insitute for Space Studies.
We all know it's James Hansen, who is currently being heralded as some sort of hero in Britain for boycotting Copenhagen "because it was seeking a counter-productive agreement to limit emissions through a cap and trade system." Link.
Hansen doesn't believe in C&T, but he does believe in punitive taxes on carbon-based fuels for everyone who uses them, whether alternate energy is available, or viable (which, right now, is neither.)
If either C&T or Hansen's insanity gains ascendancy, maybe someone should start a betting pool on how many climate-related deaths, due to the lack of affordability of either heat or cooling, in the years ahead?

Engineers have to produce. "Scientists" only have to publish. Having worked with both and I can say that is by and large a true statment.
I worked at an engineering and science labortory once and I'll never forget a conversation I had with a marketing guy at the lab.
He said we prefer to make our money producing "paper" (i.e. studies). It's easier. The engineering stuff is tough. They produce "iron". If the "iron" don't fly it'll come back and bite you in the ass big time. But the paper can be bullshit and no one will be the wiser.
