A reasonable argument can be made that Sarah Palin did the right thing when she quit after two and a half years into her first term as Alaska governor.
Yes she let many down when she asked us for her vote and then quit after a couple of years on the job. And yes some would argue the only reason she quit was for more money and fame. But regardless of her motives, her quitting could end up saving the country.
Even Palin critics would have to admit she is a mighty force on the political scene. Whether its firing up the base, raising gobs and gobs of money, or being a thorn in Barack Obamas side. Theres not a single political leader in the Republican Party who can come even close to motivating the base as Sarah Palin has.

I saw this and was shocked..Dan Fagan, I always said the day Dan Fagan gives any kind of praise to Sarah Palin pigs would fly..so I guess this means piggies are officially flying now
She didn’t “quit.” She was being obstructed willfully from doing her job by her deranged enemies.
I support what she did, and I support what she is doing.
She is the most visible and vocal republican opponent of Obama.
I’m not sure that she could be as effective from Alaska, especially considering that she had to constantly defend herself from unwarranted ethics complaints.
Mercy, isn’t that the truth!
Right now she is running the kind of campaign she was prevented from running last year. They wanted her to a younger, more energetic version of a Kay Bailey Hutchison or an Elizabeth Dole. They found themselves with a feminine version of TR and they didn’t know what to do with her.

Spot on. They may have vetted her, but they didn’t understand her, or didn’t try.
‘She turned to conservative to run with John McCain’...
not hardly.
Interesting.

I listened to her resignation speech live, and had no trouble following it :)
She did the right thing for the right reasons and at the right time, just as she will do for America when we elect her as our president.
“..so I guess this means piggies are officially flying now”
At least one pig has been flying since the 1960’s.

Dan Fagan must have been gagging as he wrote this piece, considering that he was in cohoots with the “Alaska Bloggers” in attacking the governor.
The economic benefits to Alaska if Sarah Palin is ever elected president are enormous. Even idiots like Dan Fagan have probably figured this out.
Fagan has probably also figured out that Sarah is shooting to the top in National politics and now wants to play nice with her in the hope that she will forgive and forget all of his previous invective against her.
She quit. spin it all you want but she quit. It will come back and bite her.
Only in your dreams...

There are not enough voters who worship Palin to get her elected. There are more who like her ideas but have a real problem with the way she left office. Comments like "in your dreams" are not only childish, they do nothing to change the image of a quitter.
National debate...August 2012...question for Palin...
You left (quit) your office in Alaska with two years left to your term. You cited (among many reasons) the pressure brought by the media and the opposition party and the impact that pressure had on your family. Since the pressures endured by any POTUS are infinitely greater than those that you experienced, why should we believe that you won't quit again?
What can she say? I promise I won't?
If you think that won't happen then it is you who is in dreamland. Those who worship Palin don't care. Those who don't worship her need an answer and frankly, there are no words that trump past actions. Character counts. She made a huge mistake.
