Yep, we have a real live idiot liberal troll in our midst. I am pretty much ignoring sickoflibs from now on...although, if I get ornery I may play with the dweeb.

KNOCK IT OFF!!! {in JR's voice...}

SOL's may be many a thing Wpin, but a troll he's not.
The man's an Allie of yours & mine.
That's what he is.

Wpin?
I C&P'd this from your own bio page: "During the coming difficult times it will be vitally important to maintain a connection with those who share political and economic views. When we are part of a community...there is hope that is shared."

Sage words my friend, they include 'sickoflibs'.
Not exclude.
If that ideal eludes you then by all means, please exclude me too while you're in an excluding mood.

Once again, sickoflibs, you nailed it. I notice that your aliterations and overall writing have become sharper and terser. Always glad to hear from you.

I think more and more conservative folks are seeing things our way. In any case, Bush has been gone long enough that what he may have or have not done is becoming irrelevant. The Marxist Onada pretty much owns the economy now and that is borne out in his declining polling numbers.

I am a bit nonplussed about Rush L. The other day he was railing against third parties. Among other things he challenged someone to tell him when a third party won or, for that matter, advanced conservatism.

He wants us all to stick with the GOP and take it back. There are two things wrong with what he said. First, since when has voting for a RINO ever advanced conservatism? Second, he assumes the GOP will allow itself to be taken back.

I’ve had this same discussion with FRs. When I ask them how exactly do conservatives take back the GOP, the response is no response—or name calling. If Rush thinks people like me are ever gonna vote for a RINO again he’s out of touch.

I’m hoping that Palin will have the star and horsepower to force the GOP to support her for president. Particularly after the GOP got its butt kicked in NY 23. Absent that, I’m hoping she can put together enough of a coalition of conservatives and indies to make a credible run for the presidency. There is no one else out there who commands the attention she gets—almost without even trying.

The Huckabee criminal sentence commutation, IMHO, has taken him out of the presidential picture. I was never very excited about the man anyway. Romney is a true blue RINO. Ron Paul seems to have a cult-like following. But I don’t think he can swing others his way. Other names that have popped up like flares have fizzled out quickly.

Thanks. #201 was one of my better analogies. It’s addresses one of those crazy ideas floating around here I have been dying to respond to. That “George Soro’s killed the world economy to make Bush look bad, or so Obama would win” , jeeze. Then why wouldnt Soro’s now jump start the economy to save O?

After 8 or more years of republicans creating a bad name, we dont need a majority of the wrong republicans again. We do need a revival of the party, with a new mission. 1993-1995 was such a hopeful time. The useless R party had suddenly been replaced with real conservatives wanting real reform, and reduction of government. Yes, they hit bumps in the road. But we still could feel that they were like us (especially the house.) And they accomplished some great stuff even with Clinton as president (which is why he looks good) .

If we cant get that in the near term, we need enough seats to block democrats.

While I'd have little doubt of Soros' complicity, he didn't act alone, either. You know that damned well too, or should.

"The useless R party had suddenly been replaced with real conservatives wanting real reform, and reduction of government. Yes, they hit bumps in the road."

Forget the 'bumps', what ultimately happened? :o)

"But we still could feel that they were like us (especially the house.)"

*Feel*, is where many went wrong. Or as Waylon once sang, "Be careful of something that's just what you want it to be."

"And they accomplished some great stuff even with Clinton as president (which is why he looks good)."

Shutting down Jellystone Park?
Enabling every damned special interest group of parasites under the sun & focusing 'em on every one of us?
LOL

"If we cant get that in the near term, we need enough seats to block democrats."

Given the state of the republic, that's about the best one could hope. Which would last just long enough for the quisling mediots to demonize the GOP all over again for yet another run at deja vu. LOL

Thanks for the defense. Getting called ‘a liberal’ is just part of a normal day for me.

What I really want is an honest exchange of ideas. Hopefully ‘new’ ideas. What I cannot tolerate is brainless uniformity. We tried that for 6 years, and still some of it the last two years of Bush, lesser so. We need to come up with thoughtful ideas, and challenge others ideas here. GWB does NOT fit into that at all. If he was never mentioned here, I would try not to bring him up. But we can never revive the country trying to re-write Bush legacy.

I know some of my ideas will urk even many of my best friends here from time to time (including you) . And I know I am not always right, many freepers have changed my opinions on topics. And they did it respectfully, and thoughtfully.

I dont think Wpin shares my economic views given his posts.

Have you noticed that if you veer just a teeny bit too far to the right, all the RINO FReepers call you a liberal ;-)

"GWB does NOT fit into that at all."

GWB is gone. Period. For those who care to remember the mane I say have at it. Memories are short these days, even theirs. We've much bigger fish to fry, like the very existence of our republic for example?

"I know some of my ideas will urk even many of my best friends here from time to time (including you)."

Moi?
Idea(s) do not threaten me my friend, nor do their origins. Just a FYI, FWIW. "I dont think Wpin shares my economic views given his posts."

Y'think?
FYI: I couldn't care less what or whose views Wpin does or doesn't share. Not my concern.

I detest cannibals & it matters not who's eating who.

Holy crap, you are more negative and cynical than me :)

Yes, Clinton got the best of Newt in late 2005.

Yesterday on FNC Cavuto they went through a list of pro-economic things passed under Clinton, capital gains tax cuts for one, reduction of deficit is another, welfare reform. I knows these were not perfect, but compare to No Child or medicare drugs for seniors, or ethanol.

By the end of the 90s, 2000 it was pretty much over. The good ones got out. The party GWB took over was completely different. And after GWB we could never dream those hopeful dreams again.

Why yes, I have noticed. LOL

That is why I do not trust such people and don't care how long they've been here.

Or an old Polish proverb: "If they talk TO you, they'll talk ABOUT you." ?? ;^)

Not cynical, realistic.

"We need to come up with thoughtful ideas, and challenge others ideas here." ~your own words, my friend.

Let us go forth & do it now.

Right now things are back on track. Democrats are showcasing liberalism with a huge majority. Not pretty? Neither is NK but we need it to reminds the kids of communism.

My biggest fear is the 2001 scenario again. Republicans in power and voters, many of them immigrants, demanding more from government. You know what republicans will do.

Not saying you are, but, guard against fears dictating course. Doing so never ends well.

Yes, I do.
I'm a realist, remember.

Leaving town shortly, have a relaxing weekend.

What’s crazy is that sometimes it’s hard to formulate an opinion about what you believe until you’ve said it out loud. That’s worked well for me in the past but I’ve put my foot in it many times while trying to do the same thing in an open forum.

Unfortunately, what I put here today is out there for all to see forever. I have a tough time metering my opinions well enough to protect my reputation (such that it is) and, as we see from the tumbling politicians you usually don’t have much luck trying to do it retroactively.

God bless.

I think we due need to take the GOP back.

Third parties just take votes from the GOP and help the democrats win.

RINOs act just like democrats, get unpopular and lose the next election to the democrats.

Both of those paths lead to the same disaster.

A conservative GOP is the only realistic scenario for advancing good government in my option.

RE :”;I don’t think you have a good grasp of the situation sickoflibs. You are at the right internet site to get better informed.

You are right. thanks for the suggestion. I was taking your advice reading here and found these thoughtful comments by you 'Wpin' and learned alot:

John McCain should be given credit for doing as he has always done, even when we didn’t appreciate it, what he believes is right for the country without regard for his own reward #101

The party is being lead towards the right direction for us...and it is McCain who is leading #7

President Bush has been one of the most effective and successful Presidents in modern history. He does not sit below Ronald Reagan historically, he sets beside him #39

McCain won’t quit on you, President Bush didn’t quit on you. Look in the mirror people, there you will find the quitters #80

I contributed to McCain last night. I sent a larger amount than I had planned and had a moment of regret (financially) but we are fighting for our nation and our very way of life. So many others have given their lives for those same things, a few bucks is a paltry sacrifice.#34
