Did a Devoted Husband Find a Cancer Breakthrough?

Throughout his years of groundbreaking research, endocrinologist Dr. David Vesely never gave curing cancer a lot of thought. But then it became personal. "We started to work on cancer when my wife died of breast cancer seven years ago," Vesely said. His wife, Clo, died in 2002, leaving Vesely and their five children behind. Vesely said he directed his sorrow into his work at the James A. Haley Hospital in Tampa, Fla., and seven years later he may have a breakthrough. An Idea From the Heart Vesely said it was originally his son's idea to conduct research. Brian, who was 16 when his mother died, was looking for a way to channel his grief a month after his mother's death. In the late 1980s, Vesely, focusing on heart disease, discovered three hormones made by the heart that prevented normal heart cells from getting bigger and multiplying. He wondered if they could also control cancer cell growth. Vesely and Brian set up an experiment and left cancer cells and heart hormones alone in a Petri dish. The cancer cells were blown apart by the body's own hormones. "Well, the cells blew apart. So we thought, 'maybe we did something wrong,'" Vesely said. "Because you never know ... but the second time, we knew it was real." Vesely began studying the effect on mice that had been injected with human cancer cells, by pumping the hormones under their skin. "Usually after a month, they eliminate up to 80 percent of human pancreatic cancers growing in the mice," Vesely said. Since then Vesely said he has eliminated other deadly forms of human cancers in mice, including 67 percent of breast cancers and 86 percent of small cell lung cancers, all with almost no side effects.

Please remember. Our Government has determined that women don’t NEED mammograms until age 50. This will be disastrous for our country. This ‘Healthcare Reform’ must not pass.

“...from the study: “No side effects in mice — The pancreatic cancers that were not cured were reduced to less than 10 percent of their original size. Treatment with vessel dilator gave the best results: reducing the tumor to 2 percent of its largest size. None of the mice died of cancer – all died of old age – and none suffered any side effects.None of the mice received any other course of treatment such as surgery, chemotherapy or radiation, and they did not suffer any side effects. After the mice died at the end of a normal life span, the researchers found that the cancer had not spread. If the hormones act the same way in humans, cancer could become a chronic condition treatable with these hormones, Vesely said.”-Posted by:

Good God, I pray that this treatment can help the poor young man. But the doctor probably wouldn’t be allowed to administer the treatment to a human. After all, it might hurt him. /s

I have tried to convince my Lefty friends/relatives that part of our health care costs fund research. They don’t care. They want ‘free’ health care. It will be the end of all of us in the long run.

KT-220, our lead drug candidate from the ANP family of peptides, regulates cell growth via inhibition of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. As an endogenous peptide acting through a natural mechanism, KT-220 can produce broader anti-cancer activity than small molecules without the associated side effects. ANP peptides are designed by nature to inhibit the MAPK pathway by controlling initiation of the signaling cascade while synthetic drugs block only specific parts of the pathway. Supporting the inherent anti-cancer properties of ANP is the rarity of primary and metastatic cancers in the heart, where these peptides are at their highest concentrations.

Except there are many medical and surgical treatments that cure a condition and do not require paying money to doctors and pharmaceutical companies continuously.

That is of no use. Why cure conditions when symptomatic treatment is a gold mine?

Finally some intelligent medicine using naturally occuring life-oriented substances!

Bravo!!!!!

(Of course big pharma will not sit still for this, and will petition the FDA to throw stumbling blocks in the way)
