To be honest, this is perhaps the first time I’ve agreed with Obama’s timing. (Hell he should have done this months ago and we all agree on that, so understand that up front.)
I am not a Charlie Brown fan. Frankly the whole concept gives me the hives. Just about anything that would keep him off the tube is fine with me.
For the Charlie Brown fans, sorry folks. Take your little blankey over in the corner and pout.

What on earth could you possibly have against a beautiful and wholesome cartoon like Charlie Brown and Peanuts?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that kind of vitriol directed against “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Wow.
To: DoughtyOne; PapaBear3625
Charlie Brown is part of the American Christmas tradition for children and we have three generations in our household who have and do continue to enjoy him. BO has been dithering for months about this issue so not in my house and certainly not tonight. I agree with others-BO needs his own channel so that I can block it from my house entirely!

I prefer the cartoons to most of the rest of the junk that’s on TV. At least you know they are fiction!

Yeah, because it’s only the adults who will be upset.

Well, I will say this: If Peanuts was ever funny (I think it was), it became completely unfunny the last ten years or so of its run. I don't mean, "That joke's not funny." I mean, "There's no joke in this strip."
Ironic that Schulz threw his faith away and became a secular humanist, but Linus telling people the true meaning of Christmas will reach far more people than anything he said about humanism.

I see. So what you are saying is because you don't like Charlie Brown(or peanuts, which is the correct name for the cartoons and funnies)then everyone should suffer by not getting to watch it. You can always exercise your free will and simply not watch any peanuts related showings when they are on(which is about twice a year), instead you think that showing Bozo's ugly frickin' mug on TV, once again, is just great because now you don't have to watch Charlie Brown and the crew, which you didn't have to do anyway.
What a dumb a** person you are, not to mention mean spirited and evil, not because you don't like Peanuts but because you are happy Bozo is on and Peanuts isn't. Makes a person want to puke.

Are you joking, One?? This is the one Christmas cartoon which quotes from the Bible and actually puts the reason for Christmas as its moral. I am surprised you feel this way!

The real “blankey” is to buy favor with fellow Liberals/Democrats to keep ObamaCare on the table.
Does anyone believe this preemption is anything but to explain away the delayed ‘solemn’ decision to avoid looking week?
On behalf of the little ones, there’s plenty of non-Seasonal content to preempt. But it’s easier to piss on Christmas these days, isn’t it?
