FAIRFIELD, Calif. (CBS13) ―

An unidentified military veteran was involved in a tense confrontation with anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan and the group Code Pink at a rally at Travis Air Force Base on Saturday, November 28, 2009.

A Saturday rally led by anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan at Travis Air Force Base nearly ended in a brawl when a military veteran physically confronted the protesters.

Anti-war group Code Pink demonstrated at the military base Saturday morning in the first of six planned protests against unmanned military drones currently in use in overseas war zones.

Sheehan, a well-known anti-war activist whose son was killed while serving in Iraq in 2004, was leading the demonstration with a megaphone when a man dressed in a formal military uniform stepped up to her and berated her.

Videotape of the incident shows that Sheehan yelled "Get out of my face" through the megaphone at the man, who slapped the device away. Other protesters immediately joined Sheehan and traded insults with the man, and a shoving match broke out.

Military police quickly pulled the two sides apart.

The military veteran told reporters that he was upset with the anti-war protesters' effect on troop morale. "They ruin the troops. They get to the troops. They did the same thing in Vietnam," he said.

The man declined to give his name to reporters. "I don't want to be a personality over this, that's not my intention," he said.

Sheehan told reporters that she was disappointed her protest against what she called "morally reprehensible" military drones was interrupted by the man.

"We are here non-violently, and he came up and shoved the megaphone into my face," she said. "I'm never going to stop, no matter how we're oppressed."

Sheehan said she would be speaking to an attorney about legal action against the man.

Code Pink protester Xan Joy, who physically confronted the man during the incident, called the man a "bully" and said his behavior was meant to intimidate the protesters.

"He should be so happy and grateful that there are people in this country that are trying to protect him and his children and everybody's children from war," Joy said.

The events of the day did not end when the protesters packed up and left. When part of Code Pink's caravan paused in the middle of the road, Sheehan was given a ticket for impeding traffic.

"I got assaulted by this old man and I'm the one given a ticket. So, yeah, it's bulls***," Sheehan said.

Several members of Code Pink said they wanted charges filed against the man in uniform, but no arrests were made.

I would like to as well, but given the inconsistencies I've noted in his uniform wear, and most notably the (two) badges above air crew wings, not to mention the wings look like they are actually Command Pilot wings (officer), is a dead give-away.

I would think closer examination of his accouterments and medals might reveal a poser. Not saying he is at this time, but I am not saying he is not, and right now, I lean more to the poser side.

He could be a poser. Wouldn’t put it past these pinkos.

Sgt Ward didn’t want to give his name to the reporter; didn’t want to become a “personality” ... so that could go both ways.

We may learn more in the coming days.

FWIW, in scoping out some info, I inadvertently ended up on Sheehan’s blog. She has a link to the CBS13 video in this story’s source above. For all the hoopla she and her pinkettes voiced about having “this all on tape” ... they sure are not putting it out now, are they.

Moonbats!

This just adds more to my theory that many women who get to a certain age and have lost their "lust for lust" turn kind of wacko. They apparently can no longer find any pleasure in life other than when they can get control over others. Look at Boxer, Pelosi, Hillary and so many others. These are all women who have gone past their prime. They are not attractive at all in any physical sense. When you look at them there is nothing about them that catches the eye. The same is the case for most of the Code Pink females. They almost all appear to be vaginally impaired.

The only way these women "get off" is by being noticed. Be it fame, political power or a combination of both.

And that is why they all HATE Sarah Palin. She is, well, hot:)

Ah, the decline of the female on full display. Does anyone ever go up to these slime animals and remind them that 4000 babies are butchered everyday in the US. I dont think they would ever be caught dead protesting outside of an abortion clinic in East St. Louis.

She is more than an idiot, she’s a cold-hearted, self-serving commie and I say that because I researched her and found that her son left her $250K in death benefits.....but she didn’t bother with erecting a headstone for him.

For over two years, her precious son had nothing, until his father got tired of the disgrace and he bought one for Casey Austin Sheehan. Cindy did nothing. She’s a POS.

Travis (where I go for PX, etc.) is solely a transportation base. They provide flights all over the country and are the gateway to the Pacific Rim and the mid-East. They have no tactical mission that I have ever seen.

Cindy’s still striving for relevance, I see. Stupid broad!

My brother-in-law was stationed at Travis, and I had always believed it was a transportation base .. and when he left the AF, he flew out of Travis on a C-5 to New Zealand.

And .. I was always under the impression that the drone set-ups were in the middle east somewhere. Can’t remember anything more than that.

Don’t know that much about drones (UAV’s) but for what’s on the Military History Channel and the Military Channel, but I did hear once that down in Sunnyvale, in Silicon Valley, there’s an AF station that has a LOT of satellite uplinks that can control UAVs from zillions of miles away... I drove by the place once and was impressed with the number of dishes... many 10’ in diameter or bigger.

Hmmmmm ..?? I was raised in Sunnyvale (went to grammar school and high school there).

The only “base” I remember was Moffett Field in Mountain View. It used to be a navy air base, but I heard it was no longer a navy base and some other organization took it over because of the huge wind tunnel there. And .. Moffett Field was right next to Lockheed.

Of course, I haven’t been to the Bay Area for quite a few years, so a lot of things could have changed by now.

Now NASA uses Moffett Field... But what I saw was just a large blue bldg somewhere there with a dozen or more satellite dishes and all surrounded by chainlink. It said USAF something or other and was NOT surrounded by runways. There was something on TV about it one time, too...

Oh my goodness, I had forgotten it was NASA who took it over .. but I doubt the satellite dishes have anything to do with drones.

But .. what do I know .. I could be way off.

Oh, no. Not talking about Moffett Field. This was elsewhere!
