SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.
It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years....In a statement on its website, the CRU said: We do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (quality controlled and homogenised) data.

“Honey, have you seen my raw data?”
“Oh, I threw that out”
“You THREW IT OUT??!!”
“Yeah, no matter how many times I washed it, I just couldn’t remove the “stains”!!”
More precisely, current and anticipated levels of CO2 can't cause the kind of greenhouse warming that they're screaming about. Venus has a runaway greenhouse effect, but Venus' atmosphere is 97% CO2, versus 0.038% for Earth.
If the Republicans let them get away with this they are done as a party.
It is unbelievable...unless they never used real data.?!?
If the data really does prove AGW, they would have guarded to preserve the only proof a real scientist would believe.
If the data really did not prove AGW without "adjusting" for the desired outcome, then I suspect they would still have saved it because future research may be possible.
Either they never had data, or they are lying their pants off. Either case is criminal, prosecutable, and academic misconduct worthy of losing their positions and credentials.
They made it up. They simply made it up, out of whole cloth. It's entirely BS, from top to bottom. You know it and I know it.
Vast amounts of research funding were available; enough to keep dozens of graduate students paid for years (I mean dozens for every professor on the list, of course). Not only that, but swim against the tide and you got squat, at best. Zeroed out. Not a penny. At worst, you were accused of being a bought-and-paid-for shill of the oil industry. No funding. No graduate students. No cute, female graduate students. Even if the broad public doesn't see it, their collegues certainly do. It's not the first time scientists have sold out in order to get a place at the head table. It won't be the last either.
Even worse than any political consequences to the Republican party, is the huge step this will be in cementing the serfdom of American citizens. Starting with Wilson’s “temporary” income tax, expanded under FDR and then LBJ, buttressed by the left’s utter infiltration of and power over media and academia for many decades, and given free reign by the deliberate dumbing-down of the American populace—all at a convergence in our own time. Healthscam, cap and trade, “green” taxes and policies, the apathy and entitlement mentality of Americans, the dilution of the value of our precious vote by ACORN-style corruption and creation of entitlement voters through “social programs”, “victim” groups and illegal immigrants, the corruption of our justice system—doesn’t leave many places to turn. The left took the long view many years, decades ago, while the right was still and is still looking to the next political victory-winning battles while losing the war.
The real motive to fudge data.
Destroying evidence is a common criminal tactic...
Exactly but it up to all of us to make sure that everyone knows what a fraud this is. I so want to see all of the lefties who invested deeply into this fraud lose every dime!
You're right about this - I've seen punch cards saved since the 70's...
IMHO all of their computers both work and home need the hard drives taken now so anything that was ever on them can be extracted to see if it all can be retrived or at least some of it that is still there.
I agree.
Hey....it won’t matter to Congress if it was proven a fraud and a scam.
They’ll vote for it anyway....and there will be investigations on.....”What really happened to the DATA?” and still going on to 2020.
I keep my family’s genealogy records. As such I’ve made all sorts of electronic copies of the old photographs and documents. Under no circumstances would I ever consider throwing away any of the original material. For these guys to claim it was thrown away for lack of space is a lie. I assume that the claim that it was thrown away in the ‘80s is a lie too. Thrown away or hidden when McIntyre asked for it is probably closer to the truth.
An excellent summary.
