She's a God, Country, Family, small government, no nonsense traditional Christian conservative. She's an outsider not corrupted by business as usual Washington politics. They hate her. She's pro defense. An army mom. She's pro-gun. Hunts, fishes and enjoys the great outdoors. She eats corrupt office holders and wasteful spenders for lunch. She drills for oil. She's a fighter. A winner!
She's the exact opposite to Obama in all respects. She's an American patriot!
In short, she's exactly what we the grassroots tea party patriots are looking for.
Great post Mr Robinson and thank you for this great site.
I honestly think that God had his reasons for Zero sitting in the WH right now. Not the least of which was giving McLame “his” nomination and getting him out of the way for once and for all. Another more important reason was to introduce us to Sarah and put harmful things (troopergate, unwed daughter’s parenthood, Levi’s endless ranting, Todd’s membership in a succession group) in to “asked and answered” territory.
The left or RINO’s for that matter will have no unexploded bombshells with which to work. IMHO, should she run Sarah Palin will be the most well vetted candidate in the history of politics. I will do everything I can to get her elected.
Cheney is dead in the water, yesterday's news and tainted by the dufus from Texas.
Good G-d, people, can't the conservatives choose someone besides a has been. Didn't Dole and McCain teach anyone, anything???
$500 to register seems awfully high for "grassroots", especially in these hard times.
How dumb do you have to be to believe that?
Exactly! We swallowed our pride and voted for that RINO McCain. Won't get fooled again!
I have to agree with you EEE. Like Republicans and even Rats, Libertarians are NOT monolithic and have their own Right and Left wings. The hippies, pot-smokers, and 9/11 truthers are on the left, while small government, fiscal responsibility, and low taxes group are on the right. I consider myself as a Libertarian Conservative, and quite frankly, it would not take much from the GOP to push me over to becoming a full-blooded Libertarian (right wing of course).
The big test for me will be in 2012 once I see how the GOP establishment treats Sarah Palin (if she decides to run like I think she will, especially after reading her book). If the beltway-cocktail-Brooks/Parker Crowd sabotages Sarah like they have been trying to do all year, then I am gone. If they line up behind her and support her 110%, then all will be forgiven (but not necessarily forgotten).
And like I've repeatedly argued before on this forum, if you're a true Conservative, then you are a Libertarian to a certain degree since the two ideologies overlap to a significant degree.
Congrats you are on your way to continuing what we already have...because those do exist, you will vote for them and we will continue in the same manner which we are. Nothing will change.
How many times do you have to be screwed by the two party system before you say...hey this just isn’t working out?
THIS.
Right or wrong, Cheney will be tainted by Bush for the rest of his natural life, regardless of anything else he ever says or does. He should never be floated as a serious candidate for that reason alone.
Bush should have nuked Tora Bora...PERIOD. That would have been the proper response to 9/11, it would have been fast, efficient and over with. We would have been victorious and the world would know NOT to ever mess with the USA.
What did we do? Once we had him trapped we agreed to a cease-fire...for what?
We have let liberal-think seap into our military through our politicians and they make it almost impossible for us to get anything done.
If you are going to wage war you need to wage it with one goal - total victory, you must execute it with extreme prejudice and use every single element of your military to get it done.
You are speaking more of the GOP brand which at this point is about as good as ACORN.
See the funny thing about true conservatives...they are not afraid to pay the price to do the right thing.
You want to jump into a process that relies on manipulation, half-truths to get the uniformed “masses” to vote for a certain party.
Only those bold enough, brave enough as our fore-fathers will understand just how important it is to restore our Constitution. People do work that way...that is how we got the USA to begin with.
Until we are bold enough and brave enough to walk in the shoes of our fore-fathers we will continue the same insanity that we do today.
To win as a Non-Rep or Non-Dem you need an informed voting population. That is what has to happen.
The only reason you feel forced to work within a broken system is because you think it is too hard to do otherwise - that isn’t American - we have never opted for the easy road until this generation and look where we are.
I think she already knows that, but will NEVER say it publicly since she believes she owes him and Cindy an enormous political debt.
As long as people like Lindsay Graham are in the GOP...Palin will never get the nod.
I 100% agree. I wish that we could see an official thread stating that FR does not and will not ever support Ron Paul who is 100% a left-wing radical when it comes to foriegn policy.
That Ames Straw Poll is only 20 months away, surfer! I’m sure you’ll be “all in” to participate in that one, huh?
Surfs Up!
The "GOP brand" is as good as the people we have at the forefront. It was good with Reagan, it can be good again with Palin. And there are plenty of patriots still left in the GOP - many of them are here on FR. Stop peddling FUD.
To win as a Non-Rep or Non-Dem you need an informed voting population. That is what has to happen.
I agree.
Now, to educate the uninformeed masses in order to support your 'pure' third party you need lots of money and media exposure. Where do you propose that comes from? I'm looking for simple, straight answers, and so far, I don't think you have them.
My proposal is to work in the current system, using manpower, funding, infrastructure and the brand name (because it is only a small minority that sees the brand damaged in the way you do). The conservative element has a foothold, as demonstrated in the whole NY-23 situation. I think this is the approach Gov. Palin is shooting for. Tea Parties are great for energizing the Conservative Base and enacting a GOP takeover, but even that isn't going to be sufficient to build a brand-new third party on a national level.
Let's hear something concrete from you. HOW do you propose informing the population? HOW do you propose to convince member of both parties to walk away and join you? HOW will you procure the billions of dollars needed to do it?
“The conservative element has a foothold as demonstrated in the whole NY-23 situation”
That is precisely why the GOP isn’t the answer. They had a conservative candidate who they could have endorsed and they DIDN’T. Even Gingrich towed the party line on that one. It was a disgrace. The GOP actions pretty much made sure that Hoffman couldn’t win. However if the vote were counted accurately I think the Hoffman situation could have been different anyway - and that is proof that a conservative party is viable. Things don’t happen overnight.
I am not here to make proposals on what to do...I have said the answers are not in the the DEM or GOP parties. History proves me right on that one. Back before the Revolutionary War there were many people that believed we could fix the British system, that is was broken, that we had to work within it...they were called Tories.
Glenn Beck is the first real opportunity for educating it is too bad Fox is the only option for him to get his word out but at least he is doing it.
For myself I hit about a dozen liberal blogs every day and fight the fight with the truth. I support the Tea Party movements, GOOOH, etc. The key is to continually work to get the truth out. I have personally blogged for years on AGW, Socialism, Political Correctness, etc...the bottom line is you do what you can do but the key is to use the truth as your weapon and continually expose the frauds for what they are...regardless of parties and that includes George W Bush, etc...
If she runs for the nomination and wins the GOP can’t do anything about it. Anymore than with McCain. They have to nominate her. This is about the voters. Now if your making a case that Rinos live in the states with the biggest primaries then that is something else.
The GOP won’t want to tear itself up if Palin were nominated. Watch. If it happens they will all be like the Dems were with Obama after he was declared the winner of the primaries. GOP is just as Hungry for Power and will ride its meal ticket.
The fact that the GOP put McCain up as their best candidate for President speaks volumes just how screwed up the party and the primaries really are.
Look at the leadership in the GOP it is a joke filled mostly with career politicians...the last thing this country needs.
