"Writing in the monthly Derby diocese newsletter, he said: "This is the 'Happy Christmas' month. Yet to many that greeting will be hollow, coming as an insult, or even an obscenity.""Oh brother. Where do these people come from? Everone knows we say 'Merry Christmas!'

"How do you wish 'Happy Christmas' to a community in the Indian Ocean who can probably count on the fingers of a couple of hands the number of Christmases they will see before their home disappears under water, victim to global warming?I like this one the best! Maybe like the prime minister of the Maldives, they can have Christmas dinner underwater. "Bishops" this obtuse really do hurt the church. What person would lower himself to grant credibility to such a dunce?
To: Steelfish
Oh Good Grief. We aren't supposed to say ‘Merry Christmas’ because it might cause pain to someone who has experienced a recent tragedy? Oh Well. At least Christmas is a seasonal thing. Not like those folks that say ‘Have a nice day’. They cause people pain year around.
What a crock.

Maybe, the soldier will have everlasting life, because of the Virgin Birth and Our Lord and Savior coming to earth to suffer and die for us and open the gates of heaven.
Maybe we can be happy, in spite of war, disease and poverty.
If we can't, then no generation is entitled to, by way of the Bishop's reasoning!

Man, I hope I have the chance to wish this liberal Jack-A a ‘Happy Christmas’ before global warming burns his self-righteous butt to ashes.
But, hey... that’s just me.

Where did this Bishop come from?? And it's Merry Christmas. Many good deeds are done in the name of have a Merry Christmas.
Get with it!!

Can’t be anything more obscene than rejoicing in the birth of our Savior, right? After all, Scripture DOES command us to meet God’s blessings with bitterness. /s

Oh! So sorry . . . How is this then?
“Have a squalid, blighted, grim, wretched and utterly meaningless ‘holiday season’ then, Reverend Southern.”
Hey! Wait a minute! Why am I calling someone ‘reverend’ when he could be an utter and absolute dork?

What an idiot! We wish each other a Merry Christmas to commemorate the Birth of Christ! The JOY we anticipate has to come from within, not be controlled by political correctness, climate change, or the economic situation! Hasn’t this Scrooge ever read “A Christmas Carol” or seen “It’s A Wonderful Life” for Heaven Sakes?? What’s WRONG with that guy? I am sure glad I don’t go to HIS church! Crikey!/rant off

PS:
Dear ‘Bishop’,
There is this quaint, archaic old book you might want to open some time. Here is one part of it that might apply to your recent thought, if I may so abuse the word ‘thought’.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Maranatha!
