Tiger Woods Injured In Crash Outside Home (Update: treated and released, alcohol not involved)

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside of his Isleworth home early on Friday morning, officials said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was seriously injured and taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.

Woods was driving a 2009 black Escalade, FHP said. He hit a fire hydrant outside of his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home.

FHP said the crash is still under investigation.

How can you be seriously injured backing out of a driveway and hitting something from behind?

My guess is that he got into an argument with someone and then angrily sped off ramming his SUV into the hydrant then the tree.

i have no idea what his motivations might be, if he is indeed cheating with that one— but i think she is full on scary looking, like a caricature of a skank-ho, actually. my husband thinks he is a good golfer, i personally have no opinion on him, other than lamenting that he would do anything to damage his beautiful family.

Good point. My wife used to drive a suburban and when she hit someone who ran a red light, the Toyata was literally totaled and all the Suburban needed was a front bumper and headlight. Plus, he couldn't have been hurt that seriously if he's already out of the hospital.
