Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?
Does FR make formal endoresments of candidates, and if not, why not?
Conservatives aren't supporting the tooth fairy now, are they? If so, I missed the memo.... :-)
I AM SENDING A DONATION AS SOON AS I POST...
SEND IN $13.00 AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR FREEREPUBLIC!
THANKS JIM!
You support R.I.N.O.S therefore you no longer get money from me. I support individual Conservtive candidates.
This is the kind of crap that threads like this engender.
Pointing out that the GOP is run by RINOs who have sold out conservatives and nearly destroyed this country is crap?
If I had my way Jim would turn this into another bugzapper thread and get rid of a bunch of the RINOs who are currently polluting FR.
Giddy up Jim!!!
Anyone still in Romney’s camp really needs to look at RomneyCare...anyone stupid enough to support that will only bring more disaster to our country...
Just like Obama is Carter II, Romney would be Obama II, Carter III.
We need to wake up and stay the course...we just need to find the next Ronald Reagan...so we can make Michelle unproud of her country again!
Let me clarify with a real FReeper example.
The other day someone on a similar thread said "If the race comes down to Rudy Guiliani over Hussein 0bama I'm voting for Rudy." The other FReeper said "No way. I would never vote for Rudy."
Clearly that is nuts. You don't want to throw away your vote by *not* voting, but if you refuse to vote for the RINO then you vote for the marxist.
The bigger point is that every specific election is different. A thinking person must take them on a case-by-case basis.
Conservative principles, as articulated in the Constitution, etc. are *not* changing. They are eternal, they are proven to work, they apply to all humans and reflect a profound understanding of human nature and individual liberty. Those are the principle we need to identify and promote to increase the number of true Conservatives IMO. We can do with a lot less partisan bickering, too.
Romney isn’t conservative enough for a solid conservative website freerepublic, but he is within the bounds of the Republican party (which, as we all know all too well, is not simply the “conservative party”).
As are some others whose names are bandied about as RINOs here.
Just listened to an interesting book, although not particularly well-written, “Empire” by Orson Scott Card. Not a fan of his politics by any means, but he had an interesting although misguided epilogue about party polarization and “lock-step” issue identification which would be an excellent launching point for a class on political science (Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a written version online to link to, and I certainly didn’t find it interesting enough to actually transcript it).
He suffered of course from the same problem he was critical of — having made his argument, he essentially demonized the “extremists” in both parties whom he accused of “demonization” of their opposition.
Anyway, on web sites throughout the internet, many followers of every politician come across like cults, and conservatives are no exception. Of course, nobody thinks THEIR devotion is cult-like (nobody ever thinks they have joined a cult).
Its Jim’s site to do with as he pleases. If you don’t understand that, and the first amendment, you shouldn’t be here anyway.
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday FreeRepublic (Thanks Jim), Happy birthday to us all

You say its crap, but its true. RINOs are just as responsible for the mess in this country as libs, simply because they insist on pushing this country and the GOP further to the left.
They ALREADY DID THAT two and a half years ago. Then some of the hard-core RINOs decided that the WAnkers were't liberal enough for them and they went and started another one.
IT will be interesting when she starts spelling out details on the issues that conservatives claim are important.
I remember when I first decided the Fred Thompson for President movement was serious, and I presumed he’d never be accepted here at FR, since the major complaint against John McCain was his support of Campaign Finance Reform, and Thompson was a major player with CFR.
However, it turned out that with Fred that wasn’t such a big deal — so I know that conservatives can and do measure candidates they like by a reasonable expectation standard rather than a perfection standard.
The perfection standard is simply an easy way out of discussing issues for a candidate you don’t like.
That doesn’t explain Bobby Jindall though...
