Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!
And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!
Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!
The strategy is we win, they lose.
Any questions?

I roll my eyes at McCain Junior. And have to confess that I don’t listen to the others. I have heard/read them on occasion but never regularly. Well actually I’ve never heard some of them.

The NRCC was wrong to appoint Scozzafava in the first placeThe NRCC had nothing to do with this. She was appointed by the eleven county chairs from the district. The chairs were appointed by Republicans in the district.
That's what I've been saying over and over on this thread. The blame for this belongs with the grassroots Republicans in the district who selected those eleven county chairs.

Somebody recently told me something with respect to leadership. She said that if a person thought that they were a leader that they should turn and look behind them. IF nobody is following, then they're just wandering around! :-)
Newt seems to pretty much be nothing more than a big ego driven windbag. I wouldn't hold that against him too much, but he really shamed himself when his wife was sick and he left her. The details behind that showed me that he lacked integrity as a man, and at that point everything that he might be, or might become falls into question.
Not only this, but I received a plea from him via USPS some time back asking for a donation to the GOP. Newt told me of all the terrible things that were going to befall me if the GOP didn't win over the DNC. Fear mongering makes me mad, and I consider it a low tactic which is really only ever used by those who have nothing real to offer! As if the mighty Newt Gingrich holds some sort of sway over me that the GOP doesn't! :-) I taped several layers of pennies to the inside and used a big sharpie marker and wrote "POUND SAND RINOs!" on it, and sent it back courtesy of their self addressed, postage paid envelope! ;-)

I don't listen to Rush, et all on a regular basis, but am sure to tune in when Obama does something dumb- which lately has been every week.
I think its very telling that leading conservative pundits have made clear statements about their disgust with RINOs (specifically McCain). Rush was one of the harshest critics of him, and still is. And Mark Levin, wow, when he gets going on them, its like a dog with a new bone.

Do we even have a favorite around here? A conservative Republican leader? A staunch conservative that won’t sell out to the first bidder on the DemocRat side? I know I’ve been away for most of the week, but I’m not seeing any ONE we can count on.

That's what I've been saying over and over on this thread. The blame for this belongs with the grassroots Republicans in the district who selected those eleven county chairs.Wherever the blame lies, it also lies with those, including those on this thread, this forum, who have publicly stated they would vote for any Republican, including Scozzafava, even though there was a viable Conservative also running. If you're so intent on laying blame, be inclusive.
It is an indisputable fact that Scozzafava gained more votes than Hoffman lost by. Had he been made the GOP candidate as he asked to be, he could have won that election. And had Gingrich backed off his backing of her and given his support to Hoffman, she may not have gained as many votes as she had, and Hoffman may yet have won.
The simple fact is, this is a testament to the stupidity of a GOP only mentality. When conservatives run, they can win if given the support they deserve. But when a self-righteous GOP ignores good, solid conservatives, they lose. We all lose.

Proabably good for your blood pressure that you don’t hear them so much. I was watching Cavuto this morning and there was some whackjob on there still claiming that global warming was a settled scientific absolute.
I keep a pile of old bedroom slippers close at all times so I don’t accidently wail a REAL shoe through my TV screen.
Same reason I keep a whole lot of graphics to post when I want to punch the computer screen. Not that I ever get that violent or anything.......

I don't contribute to the RNC for the same reason that I never joined AARP. They don't use my money the way that I would. They spend it on things and people that I disagree with.
I too hate fear tactics. Tell me why you want my money and what you're going to do with it and I'll decide if I agree.

RINOS are worse than outright leftists, because they are just gradual leftists, while pretending to be something else. Its better to be honest than sneaky.
RINOs are subversive! In an open warfare environment, they'd be considered unconventional, and as a good many of us know, the regular rules of engagement don't apply when these types are discovered! Typically, they're shot on the spot, or shot immediately after interrogation! That's usually the standard treatment for one who is caught across enemy lines wearing the same enemy's uniform!
The RINOs we're going to oust need to be treated harshly and not forgiven politically. They've committed (in my humble opinion) an unpardonable sin against our fair Republic, and they should not simply be ousted, but punished as well. Perhaps we'll have the opportunity to bring these things to bear in good time.

Do we even have a favorite around here? A conservative Republican leader? A staunch conservative that wont sell out to the first bidder on the DemocRat side?At the moment, my pick, along with many others, is Sarah Palin. No one is exciting the conservative base as she is. Whether this lasts until 2012 remains to be seen, but she certainly has the attention now.
There are others bandied about but no one who remotely comes close to her popularity. Frankly, I'd not want to see a broad field. That would give us a primary season like the Democrats went through in 2008. I'd prefer a couple strong leaders, both with solid conservative credentials. That, of course, leaves out all the contenders from 2008. They are not strong and not conservative.

I listened to Rush in the early 90’s. I was directed to FR in 99 and finally joined in 2000. It’s my news source as we don’t have TV. We moved 2 years ago and never plugged it in again. And I seldom have a radio on.

Well, I have you both beat. My wife called, she’s on her way home, and we’re going out for a bite to eat. I’ll likely have my senior meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. Maybe a big hunk of pie after. Mmmmmmmmm...

It is not good enough to be against McCain, Romney, Rudy, and Huckabee. Conservatives need to be FOR somebody. And, that somebody needs to be able to win.
The libs espoused Clinton and 0bama long before their Presidential candidacy. We need a conservative who is a leader and who can articulate a conservative vision. When we find that person, we need to be successful in promoting him or her.

Crap. That's what I forgot at the store... potatoes.
Well, with my chili, I'm having a cold beer with some chips. Then some dark chocolate with almonds for dessert. Can't wait.
Enjoy your night out!

Ah yes! Good ole Meghan McCain!...the NEW face of conservatism in America! LOL! ;-)
