In your very eloquent words about FR,
you just described what could have been the GOP.
Do you realize that?
I adopted my strategy from Ronald Reagan. We win, they lose. If it was good enough for him, it’s good enough for me.
Just keep supporting the conservatives and shun the RINOs. All of them.
It’s been over an hour and you haven’t responded to my challenge. I’m calling it a night and will pick up where we left off in the morning. You’re not worth the time any more this evening.
The two things are not mutually exclusive. In my mind, they are one and the same thing.
“We win, they lose.”
Can you elaborate?
I second that. Without Conservatism, there is no America.
Yes Sir too much !.......;o)
How bout you buddy ?
Early Thanksgiving dinner with Family and then with bunch of friends from work. Typical to much food, football and frau’s ! Slept like a Baby ! (albeit a big friggin baby)
I’m in Denton ;-) *waving hello*
No. I don't know the exact date if FR's inauguration, but I was lurking here in early 1997.
Here is a pic of the turkeys cooking .........
Glad you had a good time and slept like a "big friggin baby"!.......... ;<)
The majority of voters in CAlif. are Democrats and
liberal at that. The vast majority of kids who grad. from public school in the next year will add to the Democrat rolls.
We have had two liberal Democrat Senators for years
and some counties who had conservative congressmen
now have Liberal Democrat Congressmen.
A 5th grade math class can do the math on this situation.
Liberal Democrat wins
or for a Liberal state, a Republican who has views that
will challenge the Democrat but is not into the fringe
to push away some moderate democrat voters who are fed up with Boxer
or sit at home or write in a candidate and this will always bring 2 - 3% of the vote. Just enough to take away from the
Republican and give Liberal Barbara Boxer another term.
We would like to see a Conservative run and win, but the reality of the numbers and demographics that will not
happen.
People should check the congressional dists. of their counties and how they have changed in just 10 to 20 years
as far as party voter registration.
“The majority of voters in CAlif. are Democrats and
liberal at that.”
Amazing how pubs get elected. It’s like people SAY they’re dims but secretly want to be conservatives.
I agree. Otherwise then we have a very partisan leftist Marxist Democrat party and idiot Rinos who want to make deals with them and not follow principals.
Classic textbook is Lindsey Grahmnesty.
I rarely even read long posts but I read yours. It was worth it. I’ve spent several hours reading this thread (which I am disgusted with myself for not getting more done on my day off!) but this entire complex situation is resolved in that post. It’s not that we wouldn’t compromise, it’s that we have ALREADY compromised and suffered because of it.
It is time to make our stand, Americans are getting fed up. There is change in the wind. Our time has come and we cannot let it pass.
The big cities are killing us! I’m lucky to have landed in a conservative dist. (Billbray) after moving from an equallyconservative dist (Doolittle, now McClintock). But the big cities are the ones giving us the Boxers and Feinsteins. But then you guys already know this.
Correct. Count me in on Fed up.
Here in San Diego we have 5 Congressmen
3 are Conservative Republicans and 2 are Liberal Democrats.
Both Dem dists are at least 75% or more democrat and
a conservative republican running against them would
be a slaughter.
True, to varying degrees. I had to hold my nose when punching the ticket. I still didn't trust him, but felt a ticket with Sarah on it could mean some common sense rubbing off, or at least being heard.
But when he lost, he showed his true colors, as well as the sentiment of the GOP as a whole.
He showed his true colors before the election, when he suspended his campaign to return to DC and vote for the bailout. That was his downfall. He was actually a couple points ahead in the polls. He may not have squeaked it out even then, but he'd have fared better than he did.
The GOP may be beginning to understand what they did to themselves, but have no idea how to remedy the situation. Some stories (such as the GOP oath that's being bandied about) indicate some individuals have a clue, but as a whole, it's still sailing into a crosswind. The answers are pretty easy for us in the 'hinterland', but drinking too much of the beltway Kool Aid has hindered their reasoning. They still don't know how big a can of Whoopa$$ is waiting for them...
Been good conversing with you. I have to take off and get some sleep. I'm not a young 'un any more...
